I looked around my Cavern. Everything was empty.

No people, no slugs, no life...

Then I felt something nudge my cheek. I look to see Spike, my dirt urchin, looking at me with sad eyes.

I knew that he wanted to run away from the Cavern, but he stayed. He stayed for me. I tried to wriggle my leg out of the rubble of rocks on top of it. But it made no difference.

I was stuck. My right leg crushed underneath the fallen concrete. I don't think its broken though.

A small thing starts rummaging in the rocks. I hear Spike growl at the mysterious creature.

A slug. I sighed and Spike calmed down. The slug had 6 eyes and looked at me with a big goofy grin.

I smiled back at it. It started to hop towards me. Spike glared at it... No, her. Spike was very protective of me but I didn't mind.

"Its okay," I say to both Spike and the Arachnet. I stare down at her and notice that she has a rock in her hand. She throws it a small distance away from me and, then, heads back to the pile. I was  about to tell her to wait, fearing she may leave like the rest of the slugs.

But to my surprise she came back with another rock in her hands. She throws it.

Then it hit me. She is digging me out. One rock at a time. I look to my shoulder as I feel weight lift off it. Spike hops towards the rock and just like the Arachnet, starts grabbing rocks and throwing them off me.

I notice movement in the corner of the room. I see a pretty Flaringo hop towards me. She too starts to help while I sit their smiling at the scene in front of me.

After about an hour of 'digging' I was able to move my leg. Stretching it out, after all that time in the rocks had made it dead.

Spike hopped on my shoulder again and gave me a 'hug' on the cheek. I smiled, "thanks buddy," I turned to the other two slugs that had helped me.

"Thanks you to you two as well," as I said this an idea popped into my head.

"How about I give you two a name?" They jumped up and down, excited that they were being offered a home and a name.

I looked to the Arachnet her skin was a lighter purple than most Arachnet slugs that I have seen. It made her 6 eyes look even more noticeable.

"How do you like the name, Six?" I asked. She thought about it in her head for awhile, before nodding.

I looked over to the other Slug. The obvious difference between the orange and white on her skin. She kinda reminded me of a fish
A pond that used to be directly in the middle of my Cavern had beautiful Koi fish swimming in it.

"Koi?" I asked, unsure that she would even know what it meant, but she didn't hesitate to jump up to my shoulder.

"Well then, shall we get going?" I asked. All three slugs chirped at the same time. I assumed it was a yes.

I looked around at the rubble that I used to call my home. Something bright shined from the corner of my eye. I looked over and saw a strap with three barrels attached to it.

I haven't seen a lot of fights unless they were on TV. But I knew the basics I walked over and grabbed the sash. I put it over my body and my slugs jumped in the barrels.

If someone left this here I wonder what else I could find? I thought.

I look around moving rubble with my feet. That's when I froze.

His skin was pale, his lips covered in dried blood. One large stone lay atop of him.

Dead...

I looked the man over. There was a blaster in his hands. I took that opportunity to quickly grab the blaster. In case he was still alive. I knew he wasn't but there was apart of me that both dreaded and hoped that he wouldn't be dead.

When he still didn't move, even after I gave him a slight nudge in his temple with my foot, I walked away out of the decaying building.

In the distance I heard the sound of mechas. I panicked.

What if it's Blakk? What if they are looking for the dead guy? I have his blaster and possibly his barrel sash. What if they thought i killed him? I ran into the closest thing that would give me cover.

It turned out to be a garage. I slammed the door shut. And then felt around for the light switch. As soon I found it, I flicked it on and my eyes opened wider then they have ever been.

It was beautiful. It looked freshly painted and polished. New engines and a mecha heart.
NNJ-A on the back of it, painted in a navy blue. You almost couldn't see the writing. It looked like a panther.

I'm sure the owner wont mind me taking it. Besides they would probably think that Blakk took it.

I opened the garage door as quietly as possible. I saw a battle taking place. It was quite funny really.

Two large men with ghouls were dueling against a human boy and a cave troll. Another human with bright red hair was walking around aimlessly with a fandango in her hands. The funniest was probably the molenoid chasing after a large group of fandangos he always kept missing and I could tell that he was getting tired.

But the best thing about it all was that everyone was distracted. I took my chance. Jumping on the mecha I slowly got out of the garage.

"Ready?" I asked my three slugs. They all chirped excited to go full speed on a mecha.

I sped forward but just before I left my Cavern. I turned around looking at the place I once called home.

I remembered rolling around on the green grass with Spike. Now the grass was grey and uncomfortable to touch. I remembered looking for insects in the bushes. Now not a single living thing dared to enter the Cavern. I remember staring at the fish swimming carelessly in their crystal blue pond. Now it was a hole in the ground filled with dark water.

I looked away tears in my eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment. I shook my head.

This was never going to happen to another Cavern again. I swear that I will protect the 99 Caverns and its inhabitants.

Even if its last thing I do.

With the small oath I took in my mind finished. My mecha, my slugs and I raced out of Bullseye Cavern.

Now there is only one question in my mind...

Where am I going?
