It's been hours since I stopped my mecha. I have no idea where I am going. Or when I am going to stop.

Spikes tummy starts growling, as do the other slugs. I put the brakes on the mecha just outside of a shop.

Slugs Galore was the name of the shop. I don't have any money on me and the shop is closed.

That means I can do only one thing. Break in and steal.

I scowled. So this is how low I've sunk. Oh well, I can't do anything about it.

"Who wants to go first?" I ask my slugs. Koi, my Flaringo, jumps up.

"Okay Koi, do your thing," I say as I fire my blaster at the shop. Koi velocitates and smashes the doors. I jump off my mecha and start heading towards the shop.

I admit my leg is still in a lot of pain, but I can bare it. My slugs hop out of the barrels and search the place for food.

Six comes up to me and starts squeaking excitedly. I think she found some food. I call over Spike and Koi, and they eagerly hop over. I open the bag of slug food and they start eating.

I started wondering around the shop. There had to be something that could help me. There's a backpack on the floor.

Its black and is a decent size. It has pouches and pockets which will be helpful to carry stuff. Who knows, maybe with a few modifications, the slugs could stay in there. It would have to be more comfortable then those barrels.

I pick it up and unzip it. To my surprise there is a slug in there. It looks scared and to be honest, I would be pretty scared too, if I was stuck in a dark back pack, for who knows how long. It was mostly red but it had a blue belly. It also had a few darker dots on it which looked like freckles.

"Hey there little girl." I say in a calming voice. "Come on out of there." I say as I put my hand in the bag. She jumps on to my palm as I take her out of the bag. Finally, I can get a better look at her.

A fandango slug. Considering I only have 3 slugs, a fandango slug would be perfect. "Your a little cutie aren't you?" I say as I tickle her belly. She giggles, which I thought was the cutest thing ever.

Then she jumps up and down, excited that she was out of the bag pack. She jumps pretty high for a slug. She has so much energy. That's it! Energy.

"How about I call you Energy?" She chirps happily, which draws the attention of my other slugs.

Six hops over to Energy and smiles at her. And waves her little hand, beckoning the fandango slug over to where they are eating. Energy happily accepts and heads towards the group. They all talk while eating, they are probably getting to know each other.

I turn my head towards the cash register. I will need money in the future. I walked over and opened the register. My eyes widen.

There was easily $5,000. I took all the money and put it in my back pack. I walked over to the blaster and mecha section.

After looking at the items, I took a silencer for my blaster and a few bags that could clip onto my mecha. I took a few extra packets of slug food.

I got a pack of barrels, just in case I encountered any more slugs. With all the stuff I had, I picked up all the slugs and they sat on my shoulder. Koi and Spike, on my left shoulder and Energy and Six on my right. I walked towards my mecha and decided to give it a name.

NNJ-A... I guess I'll just call it Ninja. I attached the bags to Ninja and jumped on. My slugs made their way to the barrels. I could tell by the pace they were going, that they were tired. Honestly I was too. Maybe I can find a place to crash.

Ninja walked around for awhile. Everyone looking for a place that we could sleep. Then we saw an alleyway. It had tarps over the top so if it rained, we wouldn't get wet. I steered Ninja towards the alleyway.

When we got there, it was surprisingly cosy. I found a dozen plastic bags and folded 4 of them. So that they were plush enough for the slugs to lay on. They all fell asleep pretty fast.

I used the remaining eight bags as my own pillow. And I thought.

I thought about how far I have come in a matter of hours. I went from having one slug, to four! I went from being broke to having $5000! Yesterday I didn't even have a mecha beast!

My life was going to be different from now on. I knew that. I won't let Blakk take anymore Caverns, or slugs or mechas or anything. With them thoughts, I went to sleep.

Next day...........

I felt something tapping my cheek. I open my eyes to see Spike. I smile at him and he jumps off. I sit up and yawn. Surprisingly, I slept quite well.

I looked around to see Energy trying to wake Koi up and Six and Spike chatting. I stand up just as Koi wakes up. I stretch a little bit. Before picking up my slugs and putting them in the barrels. I walk over to Ninja.

I mounted her but before we left, I looked at they alleyway which we had slept in. My guess is that this is gonna be how it is from now on. I twist the throttle and Ninja takes off. I still have no idea where I am going...

I guess I am just looking to help people. But first things first. I need my slugs to be trained. I head to a fairly open space. The only thing around is a few mushroom trees. Perfect.

I load Spike into my blaster, aim at a mushroom tree, and fire. Spike velocitates and twirls so that spikes fly towards the middle of the tree. There is now a perfect line of spikes in the tree. I walk over and lightly tap the mushroom. It falls over and I turn to Spike.

"Good job buddy," I walk over and load up Koi. I fire her at a different tree. I squint one eye and pull the trigger. Koi velocitates and sets the tree on fire. It burns to the ground as a pile of ashes. "Wow," I say to Koi and she giggles and gives a little bow.

I turn and face Six. She looks nervous. "Its okay, you are to do great." I say reassuringly. She smiles a little. I load her into my blaster and fire. She velocitates and fires a string that wraps around my arms. She lands on the highest tree and then yanks me up. She turns back into protoform and looks at me waiting for my reaction. I smile at her. "That was awesome!" I say. She stands up a little taller. Obviously proud of herself.

We continued to do this for around ten minutes. Then the slugs started getting tired.

"Come here Energy," I say and she eagerly hops over. I fire her and she velocitates, providing energy for the rest of the slugs to continue practicing tricks.

After 30 minutes we stopped for a break. We sat down at one of the unharmed trees and relaxed in the shade it provided. I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Well, hello little lady," someone said. I opened my eyes to see two large men, probably brothers. They pointed their blasters at me and laughed. I noticed that they had ghouls and a V on their shirts. But these two looked awfully familiar...
