The entire car ride back to Tanner's house left Jordan on edge. She wasn't sure what to do. She was tempted to shoot an 'sos' text to Taylor. Everything in her told her to not send that text.
Tanner pulled up to his house and parked the car. He unbuckled himself and turned to face Jordan. He took a deep breath and gave her a shaky smile. His smile made Jordan's skin crawl.
"I'm sorry for how I acted earlier. I really didn't mean it. I should have never touched you. Do you want a beer? My parents aren't home so it's fine. C'mon, let's go inside."
Jordan narrowed her eyes. "You know what? You're right you should have never touched me. Just take me home."
Tanner didn't move. His brown eyes looked black. With one hand Tanner grabbed Jordan's face and yanked it violently to his. "Don't you ever speak to me like that again. I said I was sorry. You're not going home. I drove you here because I want you here."
Jordan tried to pull herself away. She smacked Tanner hard in the face and he let go. Jordan scrambled to get herself out of the car. Once she was free, she flipped Tanner off. "Dick, I'll just walk home."
Tanner got out of his car and grabbed Jordan's arm. He yanked her arm back and pulled her into him. He locked her in a hug. But this hug was not affectionate at all. It hurt her already aching body.
"Tanner let go of me! If you can't take the hint we're done. You're an asshole."
Tanner's grip tightened on Jordan. "Darling, I wouldn't say that if I were you. Hell, with what I know I own you."
Jordan scoffed. Tanner's threats weren't scaring her. What was scaring her was how violent he was being with her. "You don't know anything."
"Please, I know exactly how to ruin you. All I have to do is post a video and your mom would be ruined. The best part is that you'll be responsible for ruining your family because you knew everything and didn't tell dear old dad."
Jordan's throat went dry. She took a sharp breath in and held it. How could he know? Tanner couldn't possibly know. Jordan vowed to herself that she would take this secret to her grave. This terrible secret could ruin her parents relationship. She knew both of them would never speak to her if the secret was out.
"Yeah right, you creep." Tanner's grip tightened around her.
"That look of panic in your eyes just gave it away." Tanner sneered as he used one of his hands to pull Jordan's face close to his.
"Or maybe it's because you're psychotic." Tanner's grip tightened, his grip on her face would most definitely give her bruises.
"Would you like to test me? After all what your mother did could ruin everything for your family."
He knew. He knew. He knew. Jordan spit on Tanner. He pushed her away and wiped the spit out of his eyes. She immediately regretted her decision to spit on him.
Tanner's face turned an angry hue of red. "Jordan you have one last chance before I ruin everything."
Jordan wanted to know exactly what Tanner knew so she asked him. Well, more like demanding. "What the hell do you know?"
"Let's go inside. Then I'll tell you." Jordan knew it was stupid to go inside with him, but she went anyways.
Tanner unlocked the front door and he led her to the living room. They both sat down on the couch. Far away from each other.
"I know your mommy isn't as good as everyone says. She's quite the character. But what confuses me is how you haven't told your dad." Tanner moved over closer to Jordan.
Jordan took a deep breath. She was fighting off tears. "You know why. Don't toy with me."
"Oh darling, I'm just getting started." Tanner gave her a smile that made Jordan sick to her stomach.
"So, one day your dear old mother was in a meeting with a client and his son. Your mother couldn't take her eyes off of this man's son. Somehow, I'm not quite sure how, she got him alone that same day. Alone in your home."
Jordan felt a hot tear roll down her cheek. She bit down on the inside of her cheek hard, so hard it drew blood.
"You came home from school early because you were sick and you caught mommy and him in the act. You never said anything because you knew your mother would take away all your money for college in a heartbeat. She threatened you. You knew even if you told your father it would somehow be your fault. Tell me if I'm wrong?"
Jordan held back a sob and tried to convince Tanner he was wrong. How could he know everything? It wasn't like he was there. He wasn't even the boy she slept with. It was a student from a nearby college.
"Aren't you wondering how I know all of this?" The lights in the living room made Tanner look like he was a sickly yellow.
Jordan was going to say something nasty, but she held back. So she calmly answered him. "You have no proof of it even happening."
"Oh, but I do. It was filmed."
Jordan wanted to throw up. She didn't even see a camera anywhere when she caught them. "That's a lie."
Tanner moved even closer to Jordan. His face centimeters from hers. "It's not a lie! I have the proof! Don't even try reporting me to the police. I can change everything and make it look like you were the one with all the evidence."
Jordan shot up from the couch and headed to the front door. She quickly left his house and started running. Surprisingly Tanner didn't bother following her. He already knew that he had Jordan under his thumb.
He owned her. He owned her because Jordan was so desperate to keep her family together. Her college money didn't even matter at this point. She didn't care if her mother burned it all. She just knew that if she told her parents then all hell would break loose. That what happened wouldn't be her mother's fault. It would somehow turn and become her fault. Everything would be her fault.
