I: The Introduction

It is often said that stories always have an ending. You read a novel, watch a movie, or listen to a tale, every story has to have an ending. And Life! It is the compilation of many such stories which never seem to have an ending. There are always chapters. Some chapters close with time and some remain open forever.

One tends to meet over billion people within his lifetime. But only a few of them leaves a mark on them forever. Some in a positive way, giving us memories to be nostalgic about, and some in a negative way, allowing us to learn a lesson in our life. Every person has something to offer. It depends on us, whether we want to accept what they have to offer or not.

Someone once said, Lead your life by examples. Well whoever he was, he wasn't completely right. Today the world has suffered through a lot of changes. People leading their life by example are the people taken the most advantage of, without making them recognised for what they do.

One victim of this vicious circle was Arindam Guha, my friend. I have seen him suffer. Today, as I write, he must be sitting somewhere laughing at his own life.

I have known him since we were kids. We grew up together, we went to school together, we have been together from Day 1 of our school. Both of us belong to middle class families. His parents are both working. Arindam was a guy who used to be quiet. Never talked much. I on the other hand was always a very naughty kid in my younger days. Playing pranks and irritating people, even strangers are my most funny memories from that time. I don't know how on earth we two were able to stick together. My name, by the way is Abhay Basu. People call me Abby. Arindam was like my guardian in disguise. Whenever I ran onto problems, he used to help me out. I haven't been scolded and humiliated more by anyone other than Arindam. But the guy himself was facing a lot more intense problems than me. But one never knows when their lives will change, whether for the good or bad is a separate question all together.
