I stood face to face to my opponent in the dusty streets of the village. Wind sent a swirl of dusty air billowing through my teal blue hair as my glowing red eyes studied the small figure of the female in front of me. Her long green hair hung down to the spot just above her rear and glowing green eyes studied me cautiously.

She was obviously a Nature Mage, if her green tinted skin didn't give that away, her recklessness of revealing her powers to me would sure tell me what she was. Her stance was firm and she was obviously trying to intimidate me, this was apparent in her stance and in the way she revealed some of the extent of her powers.

The sun was slowly beginning its decent in the sky and when it finally disappeared from sight, we would begin our battle, which I was almost assured of winning.

Perhaps I should introduce myself while we wait

My name is Blaise Ladon and I'm an Iris and Adira Mage..basically and Rainbow and Power Mage...sounds dumb, I know. But my kind is actually two of the most powerful mage kinds out there. Rainbow or Iris Mages are known for their abilities to take on any number of Elemental Stones, when normally you could only take on four. The way you can tell what they are is the eyes, they change color depending on my mood, like now they were blood red, for threatening and anger. They could also turn blue, sadness, yellow, fear, pink embarrassment, purple, love...etc. Power or Adira Elementals are known for their regal bloodlines and have very powerful abilities...the Adira Elementals are known for their abilities to amplify any other abilities that they had. The way you can tell a Adira Mage is by the telltale glow in their eyes, mine not only change color but they glow, allowing me to see in the dark. I'd never been challenged to a fight before, even though I knew many had considered it. All were fearful of what would happen if I won, it was well known that I had been trained by a very powerful Adira Mage and the one who trained me was now among that ranks of the elders. The most powerful Mages around. But all of the Mages who heard of me wanted my Elemental Stones. I owed my abilities to my mother and I would thank her if I ever found out who she is. This young girl was in fact the first to dare challenge me to a duel.

I could practically smell the fear coming from her as she stared at me. She knew the risks, as all did. You see, when Mage Battles happen, one of two things happen, they can either let you go...or they can take your Elemental Stone. Taking someone's Elemental Stone was like stealing their favorite child, most of the time you can't get your abilities back after your stone is taken...and either way, you can't get another for an entire year. You become normal, and most cannot handle the simple life of a mortal...let alone for an entire year.

But desperation had made this Mage bold, I could tell that someone had already challenged her, by the mark on her wrist. It was a fire Elementals mark.

Nature Elementals were known to be almost completely powerless against fire Elementals, which was probably why the fire Elemental challenged her, they probably just wanted her Nature Stone. Nature Elementals were known for their healing abilities for nature and could make the barren lands fertile. The fire Elemental most likely lives on a farm that needs the extra money, which would make sense.

The last ray of sunshine disappeared behind the mountains of the land which plunged the world into almost complete darkness. I smiled to myself as my eyes glowed in the darkness and the battle officially began.
