The plans had began quite suddenly but were completely worth it. We had decided to do the most cliche and adorable first date. We decided to see a movie. As the plans began to come together, I became much more nervous. We had hung out before, sitting together watching TV, relaxing but always as friends. That's all it was, just friends. The day finally came where we decided to meet each other at the movie theater. Communication always came easily since we were still best friends. The morning of the date, I couldn't eat. I had nerves of what was to happen going crazy in my head. However, this was just the first to lead into many more.
I chose my outfit very carefully, asking as many friends as I could for advice. I chose the most comfy and cute one I could fine. A blue top and black leggings along with high brown boots. That outfit would forever be associated with that night. I got in the car and as I drove up to the theater, my nerves started to calm. There he was, standing there so beautifully. The sun was starting to go down coming closer to night fall. I got out of the car, the cold biting at my nose. I walked up to him and saw his dimpled smile. He looked at me, his hair still a little messy. I could tell he tried to comb it but his curls don't care for his effort. In the sinking sun, he looked more handsome and more human than he ever had. I smiled and said, "Hey there! You never told me the movie we are going to watch." He smirked behind his rounded glasses. "I guess you're just going to have to trust me," he said.
He already had the tickets bought and refused to tell me the name. When we approached our room, I finally saw the title. He had picked Avator, which turned out to be a great choice. As we walked into the theater, he lead us to our seats. I sat down and got settled, reclining my chair. I look at him and the glow of the screen made him look young like when we were kids. I smiled and felt a warm, homey feeling in my heart. He made me feel comfortable no matter where I was. As the movie began, I could feel his warmth near my arm. The movie began to get more emotional as the time went along and I began to tear up. I couldn't help but grab for his hand as the scenes got more intense in action. Without realizing, I gripped his hand and squeezed it for comfort.
He looked at me and smiled, but I only caught a glimpse of his face in the corner of my eye. He took my hand and wrapped his around it. He gave my hand a little squeeze and chuckled as to how nervous the movie made me. I looked at him and giggled. The movie slowed down to a more romantic scene, and the music softened. At this point, the movie wasn't the center of my attention. I was still looking into his large brown chocolatey eyes, and he was smiling from the corners of his mouth. The music was soft and my hand was warm in his. My heart began to pick up speed as he carefully leaned in. Everything slowed down and the world had paused. It was dead silent as he came closer and took my cheek in his hand. I could feel the warmth of his face close to mine and soon enough felt it on mine. As our lips locked for what was to be my first kiss, my heart slowed and my hands steadied. After a moment, he cautiously pulled back. His eyes were wide but with excitement and happiness. My heart felt like it could explode but I also felt very steady.
The only thing I could manage to get out were the two words, "thank you," which I whispered quietly. My eyes were beginning to glaze over with delight and my hands were still warm in his.
He came in closer and whispered even quieter in my ear.
"You're welcome."
