"Jack! Have you seen the Ivy Blossoms?!", Uncle Duke yelled for the third time.
I'm honestly getting tired of working for him he is always oblivious to everything. He is pretty much on is death bed which means I'm the next alchemist of this dull room.
"In the left cabinet" I sigh not even looking up from my book. When you get asked for the location of certain items hundreds of times a day you begin to memorize them. He adjusts his spectacles and waddles to the cabinet.
"Thank you my boy" he mumbles carrying the bright colored bottle to the cauldron. I roll my eyes. Working for the king already sounds like a pain but at least I have an acquaintanceship with the future one that I will be working for. This place however is a living nightmare. Most people dream to get to the capital but I dream to get out. I have been living here since I was only three years old and I have never left or traveled. How I wish I wasn't dragged into this job and have the ability to explore other cities. Don't get me wrong though I love my uncle it's just he is ninety six and he has been working here since he was eighteen.
What does that mean for me?
My train of thought is quickly interrupted by a loud bang on the door.
"Oh uh come in!", Duke yells at an ear hurting.
A man in a black uniform with glistening golden metals and shiny black boots storms in the door. He is clearly a guard.
"Ah hello sir! What might interest you this morning?", Duke cheers with a rotten toothless grin.
The guard looks around and sighs with annoyance,"I need a few bottles of Morte Flor, orders from His Majesty".
My jaw drops in shock. Morte Flor is a extremely deadly and extremely hard to make poison. Just a drop of it on your tongue can make you pass out and come down with a serious illness. I can also notice Duke have a concerned look in his eye. What is the king doing with all of that poison?
"R-right away sir..", Duke agrees worried about what he is getting himself into.
Before Duke could ask anything the guard storms out out of the room and trails down the hall. Sometimes this job can get a bit interesting.
