I had it all....part of the pioneer group of women to play in the NHL....playing for my second favorite childhood team...amazing teammates, what else would i want? Well for one thing i would love a captain who was actually nice to me. Captain serious mr. Johnny toews has been nothing but cold to me since i got here two weeks ago.
I got into the ice with the other guys fooling around with sharpy and saader before i turned to see old mr. Grumpy glaring at me while shooting pucks. Rolling my eyes i decided that enough was enough.
"Okay johnny what the hell is your issue with me? I do my work, i practice hard, Im just trying to make some new friends here!" I exclaimed deflecting his shot away from the net.
"Okay y/n listen up. Im the captain of this team, it's my job to make sure we do good and win. So therefore Im not here to make friends, get it?" he said coldly pushing around me to talk to someone. I gawked after him in disbelief of his blunt rudeness.
"Ah young love," Duncan said leaning on my shoulder.
"I think you got love and hatred confused gramps," i stated rolling st my eyes as i caught sight of ol captain annoying glaring right at me.
"You're not serious are you? You fell for the whole 'i don't like you i just wanna win i don't need friends' bullshit?" He looked dumbfounded. Sighing at my confused expression he continued, "dude he just did that because he likes you and is scared that getting close to you will fuck with his game and his confidence."
I simply nodded along to what he was saying while glancing over at Johnny. Not realizing how spaced out I was I suddenly realized he was staring back. I shook myself out of it and shyly smile at him forgetting my annoyance with him. The slight blush creeping over my cheeks only intensified as he glanced around before sending me a quick wink. Huh i mean he is pretty attractive... maybe it wouldn't be too bad i thought smiling to myself. Now i just had to get him to come out and admit it. This should be fun.
