The wind lashed cruelly against the faces of three young adults, who were walking away from a convenience store. “ Can you believe the audacity of that cashier,” One of the three asked, eyebrows furrowed and curving downwards. Her slate  colored eyes were smoldering with a sense of vitality as her silver hair billowed around her face.

“Calm down Lila, it’s not like we’re ever coming back to this store again,” Another of the adults scoffed. She was also female but had eyes the color of liquid honey. Her amber gaze was dancing with the amusement she found in teasing her friends. She had brunette hair that held hints of caramel highlights from years in the sun. Though said hair was currently whipping the third adult they had with them in his face. He rolled his cobalt blue eyes as his shoulders tensed up and his mouth turned downward in a scowl.

“Anyway, how are we getting to the Willow Creek Reserve? It’s not like I had my car privileges taken away from me or anything,” He harassed as Lila turned to him, right eye twitching.
“Charlie, you realize that I do have a car correct,” Lila sassed at him while Charlie pouted and turned to the other girl. Her hair was once again attacking him, and forcing his eyes closed.

“Victoria please control your mane, I don’t feel like going blind today!”Charlie whined as Victoria smirked and stalked closer to him. She jammed a long slender finger with chipped nail polish into his chest.

“You’re just upset because Lila was right and there is nothing you could do to change that fact,” In response Charlie turned and stalked off grumbling to himself as he mused his already wild hair with his hands. Victoria was smugly staring after his retreating back while Lila shook her head and grabbed Victoria's arm to drag her along.

“Alright, now we’re getting somewhere,” Victoria trilled as she hopped into the back seat of Lila’s black Dodge Charger. Charlie stood nearby appraising the car with eyes that sparkled with reproach.

“This is your car,” Charlie inquired, the tone of his voice invoking a deep wrath in his companion. Lila stood before him, her eyebrows raised and her foot tapping as her mouth turned down in a frown. Charlie was taking too long for her liking, and it was only adding to her irritation at him.

“Just get in the goddamn car Charlie, it wouldn’t kill you to not question everything I do,” Lila bellowed her eyes narrowing and her hands clenching at her sides. Charlie gulped and scrambled into the back seat of the Dodge to get away from the malicious aura that was radiating off of his friend. He seemed to be disregarding the fact that Victoria was cackling at him from her seat right next to his. Charlie had a reputation for talking a big game, but when it came to execution he would back down if he was going against a female. He knew first hand how unhinged women could get, he wasn’t related to Victoria for nothing.

He watched carefully, if not a tad suspiciously, as Lila stomped her way to the driver’s side. She slumped her way into the seat of the vehicle and slammed her door. Her shoulders were set with an obvious tension, but her pouting lip betrayed the fact that she wasn’t actually pissed off, and would soon apologize. Charlie was proven right as Lila looked down grumbling an apology at her lap even though it was meant for Charlie, before she grabbed hold of the steering wheel and started the car. The intense metal song that instantly came on was more than enough to drown out the comeback that Charlie had in response.

The four hour drive to the reserve was filled with a variety of different music, ranging from rock to classical. Though Lila’s occupants were almost constantly annoyed with her inability to listen to one whole song before she switched to another. By the time the three had arrived at the entrance to a looming forest with a vast field of long stalks of grass, Victoria was about ready to kill both her cousin and Lila. They had given her a horrible migraine, and she hoped for their sake’s that they had brought advil with them on the trip. Lila’s voice may have been average when singing but lord save their ears when she decided to sing horrendously.

Charlie was still pumped from the last song they had listened to and practically danced out of the back seat and into the open space of the parking lot. Lila smiled as she watched Victoria hit Charlie over the head though Victoria proceeded to whistle and pretend she was innocent. It reminded her substantially  of the first time she had met the cousin pair. While not quite in the same manner, it had been with a similar air.
