As I step out onto the stage, I see a good bit of people in the crowd. I know they're not here for me, but that doesn't make it any less scary. I step up to the mic as the music starts playing. Just as I open my mouth and start the song, I see that tall figure standing in the middle of the crowd, just looking up at me. The lights that came off of the top of the stage were shining right into his beautiful, blue-y/green eyes. I began shaking a bit as I felt the anxiety wash over me. He smiled at me and I took a deep breath and continued on. I got a pretty good reaction out of the crowd when I finished my set. "Who's ready for Highly Suspect?" I asked to the crowd. They all cheered in response. I hushed them down a bit, got low to the stage and said, "Alright, I think we can bring them out if we cheer loud enough. Do you think we can handle that? Alright! On the count of three, everybody scream... One... Two... Three.." As the crowd screamed, each band member came out and did something goofy. Johnny came out and told the crowd that they were awesome and they would be back out to continue the show in just a few minutes. We all walked off the stage and the lights-guy turned on some radio music to keep them occupied as the stage assistants set up the band's equipment. We all walked through a hallway to the rooms at the back of the bar, but Johnny stopped me right before we got to them. "I really enjoyed your performance out there. I mean it. You did really well," Johnny said, smiling at me. "Well thank you very much," I smiled back, " That's very kind of you. OH! By the way, I listened to your music before I went on. You guys are really good." Johnny laughed and thanked me, "Do you have a favorite by any chance?" "Hmm... Probably Seretonia.... or Bath Salts..." I said after thinking for a moment. He laughed and said okay. He went to go get fixed up so they could go on, and I went into the crowd. A few minutes later, they came out and began the show. They were killing it, and I was very happy to have had the chance to open for them. I get lost in my thoughts when I hear Johnny say, "These next two songs.... go out to a very special girl that I met tonight. They don't really have any meaning towards her, she just really loves em, so here it goes. Sing along if you know it." He winked at me as they started the music and I about lost my damn mind. He was playing Seretonia for me. I swayed a bit to the music and sang along with the rest of the crowd. This is why I chose to be in this industry.
