Cody's POV

I shake my head....slowly trying to get out of my daze...how....

How could this happen?

I hear Echo's...the screams of my friends...the sound of the bat swinging in the air before hitting it's target.

I hear the cries of Maggie as Glenn's head is beat to nothing more than raw flesh.

I begin to sob without control.

How could this have happened?

I hear chuckling and before long my eyes makes their way up to see Negan standing in front of Rick.

Negan's mouth is moving but I'm unable to hear anything.

That's when Negan grabs the back of Rick's shirt dragging him to the R.V.

"No Rick." I say trying to stand up only to get pushed to the ground.

"No, leave him alone!" I hear Rick say.

That's when my ears begin to ring.

"He's gonna bleed out!" I hear Carl say.

I reach up towards Rick trying my hardest to reach him only for my vision to go blurry.

"Cody!"

I slowly open my eyes to see that I'm in a bed. I let out a moan as the pain begins to form in my stomach.

How the hell did I end up here?

I look to my right to see Maggie sleeping.

How did we get here?

Where the hell is here?!

I turn back to look at Maggie to notice that she's sleeping.

"Maggie." I say quietly only to not get a response.

That's when I begin to feel the pain....the pain in my stomach. I pull up my shirt to notice that my stomach has been stitched up again.

How the hell did that even happen!

That's when the door opens to reveal Sasha.

I let out a sigh before smiling.

"Oh Sasha am I glad to see you." I say.

She lets a small smile fall to her lips before walking over towards my bed.

"Your finally awake." She say grabbing my hand.

"Yeah....how long have I been asleep?"

She lets out a sigh before speaking.

"You've been asleep for three days now."

That's when I shake my head in confusion.

How could I have been asleep that long?

That's when my memories begin to slowly come back.

"Oh my god....Abraham...and Glenn." I say shaking my head trying to process everything.

Sasha slowly nods her head with unshed tears in her eyes. That's when I grab her hand before squeezing it.

"Sasha I'm... I'm so sorry." I tell her

She nods her before wiping her eyes.

That's when I remember Rick being dragged to the R.V.

That was the last thing I remember before passing out.

"Sasha where's....where's Rick?" I ask afraid of the answer.

She gives me a small smile before squeezing my hand.

"He's fine...he fine he's back at Alexandria." She's says.

That's when I let out a sigh.

"Oh thank god." I say.

"Sasha...I'm so sorry." I tell her before grabbing her hand.

I didn't really know either of them well but I know they were in love.

She nods her head and closes her eyes trying to keep her tears from coming out.

"Come on let's get out of here." She says grabbing my hand.

I give her a small smile before slowly sitting up.

Sasha and I slowly make our way towards Jesus. He looks up from his conversation with another woman to stare at us before smiling.

He then begins to make his way towards us. "your awake, that's good." He tells me.

I slowly nod my head.

"Yeah I guess."

He turns to look at Sasha.

"How's Maggie?"

Sasha lets out a sigh.

"She's good....she's still asleep but she looks good so...that's something." Sasha tells him. He smiles nodding his head before looking back at me.

"Let me show you two, to where you'll be staying."

We come to a stop in front of a small house.

"It's a two bedroom and one bathroom.... The water does work but the doctor told me to tell you that you can not get in the shower for at least two more days." Jesus says looking at me.

I let out a sigh but nod my head.

"So um...when will...when will Maggie wake up?" I ask.

He lets out a sigh before looking down. "you know I don't really know...um soon I hope but she's been out since y'all arrived." He tells me.

I nod my head but look to the ground. That's when I feel a hand on my shoulder. "she'll be alright." I hear Sasha say.

I nod my head before looking at her.

"Yeah I know." I say.

"Well I have to go because I have a lot to work to go but here are the keys." Jesus says before reaching in his pocket to pull a pair of keys out.

He hands them to Sasha before smiling at both of and walking away.

Sasha and I walk to the front door before opening it to see a small living room and kitchen. "well...it's better than nothing." Sasha says.

I smile before walking in and looking around.

"This is...kinda nice." I say before yawning.

"Hey you alright?" Sasha asks.

I slowly nod my head.

"Yeah I'm just tired...which is weird seeing as how I've been asleep for three days."

"Well your body has gone through a difficult thing... maybe you should rest some more?" Sasha says.

I let out a sigh before nodding my head.

I guess I could deal with a few more hours of sleep.
