Author's note:

This story can be slightly gruesome at times so please read with caution if you are sensitive to such material. Plus there is a lot of swearing/cussing throughout.

Also this chapter is kinda short because I honestly rushed whilst writing it as I wanted to get it started as soon as possible.

Thanks for reading ☺

✦ Chapter One ✦

I clutched my bag strap a little tighter than necessary, sticky sweat acting as an unnecessary barrier between my hand and the leather strap. I just hated this neighbourhood. It had a reputation and not one a good one at that. I would have usually took the long way home, the safe way but my energy drained body convinced me that I had no other choice. It was late and I was exhausted. In no mood for long detours around a few dodgy streets.

I had just literally got off my shift about 15 minutes ago. I never usually worked this late but I had to fill in for Dan who swore to my boss, Linda, he had a major headache and couldn't get out of bed.

But I knew better. It was late saturday night, the football highlights were on and his team were playing in the final or some real big deal like that. He mentioned it yesterday a few times;

"The game of the season"

"Best match ever"

"You'd be a fucking lunatic to miss this match!"

Asshole.

It wasn't raining per-say but it was cold awkwardly drizzling, the type of rain that seemed to be being sieved from the clouds like icing sugar being dusted on a deluxe cake.

The sky was dark, charcoal in colour, and the only light seemed to be from the amber street lights. Although it wasn't that bad, the wet, glossy tarmac did reflect some of the light, helping to illuminate the street a little I guess, despite how eerie it made the place look.

I guess you could say that I was walking at a faster pace that usual. A short girl. Walking home alone. At 1am. In a dangerous neighbourhood. Not the best situation I have to say although I held my keys in hand, pink fluffy keychain dangling from my palm in case anybody even thought to try something on me. I was no Jackie Chan but flipping greasy burgers all day and chopping various vegetables did give me a certain element of stealth and speed when it came to handling sharp objects.

At the pace I was walking I would be able to get home in about 10 minutes tops. All I wanted was to snuggle up to the ever-lazy Mr.Nugget and collapse onto my bed before transforming into my cocoon under the layers of blankets and pillows. Sleep sounded amazing at this point and I was secretly hoping Sabine, my annoyingly strict german roommate wouldn't be up to complain about whatever it was that she wanted to complain about. Long story short, Sabine was a control freak.

I turned the corner of the seemingly abandoned street when, from the corner of my vision, a mysterious shadow was leant against a brick wall on the opposite side of the street. I pretended I didn't see it, grasping a tighter hold of my keys. It could have been anything, anyone.

I was power walking down the pavement, my arms swinging furiously by my sides in an attempt to help gain speed. It was possible that I was overreacting but at the same time you couldn't blame me for being pre-cautious. Especially in Miller Avenue.

"Hey Girlie" sounded the shadow, his booming voice travelling from the other side of the road. I ignored him, speeding by as fast as humanly possible. I could feel my pre-cautious powerwalk slip into a nervous jog fuelled by the unpleasant idea that I had peaked some creeps unwanted interest.

"Girlie, don't ignore me" remarked the tall, skinny figure as he grabbed my shoulder back with force. I took the opportunity to swing around my free arm and jab my keys into his thigh causing him to whimper in pain and fall to the ground. I took a quick glance at the man and could already see a red stain form on the worn material of his dark jeans as his face screwed with pain.

So I ran for it.

I darted down the street as fast as my legs could carry me, my bag flopping violently over my shoulder from the force of the wind. I had never been the fastest runner but with adrenaline invading my bloodstream, anything is possible.

I looked back briefly at the mystery man who was still stationary on the ground, whimpering in pain before suddenly running into something big and hard resulting in me falling back onto the damp ground on my ass.

"Boss won't be pleased with you" commented the voice, his deeper than the other mans. His voice was utterly unpleasant and actually seemed slightly dopey.

I felt paralysed with fear. Within a few seconds of staring up at the towering figure, I could somehow already feel pools of sweat on my palms and I could noticeably observe my chest rise and fall much like an extreme roller coaster at 'Six Flags'.

The man then reached down sloppily, however quick and tried to clutch my waist with his fumbling rough hands.

"Let go of me!" I screamed as his arms locked around my body. "Someone help!"

I immediately searched for my keys, before remembering that I dropped them when I ran into this brick wall of a man. Just my luck.

Suddenly, I was thrown over his wide-set shoulders before being thrown violently down on a hard, carpeted surface. The floor of a car trunk.

"Shit" I cursed as the lid was closed harshly, leaving me alone in an expanse of darkness.

I was trapped in the back of some creeps car.
