She finally managed to fall asleep, actually she finally managed to fall asleep in my arms.
The greed that led my being to become captor in this forsaken cell was highlighted once again to none other than my conscience and I felt the impending ooze of guilt leak into my system for the millionth time since I had met the beautiful Violet.
Admittedly, I was falling for her in some sort of sense and I did not like the possibility of a mere crush overshadowing my clear and better judgement.
I couldn't pinpoint the actual strength of my feelings but they were evident and they were the pressing force in which my conscience battled with to tell her the truth.
The truth as to why I was here and subsequently why she was here too.
I know I was on too deep now. Heck, we had only known each other three days but if the sweet violet found out that I single-handedly was the reason she specifically was here, then I would combust with shame.
I don't want her to find out and the fact that I happen to be double-crossing the girl I should not care about but seemingly do in a sense.
I would rather die than expel the truth to her and that's the gods honest truth.
I looked to her, a fragile being. Chocolately waves flounced around her head in a halo-like fashion. She certainly looked like an angel but there was definitely something underlying with her. A flare of something, a flame that conjured a backbone of passion.
She was the perfect visual aspect of an easy target, small and petite but her passion was enough to knock my off my heels and let me tell you I was not one to falter easily.
I watchfully gazed on her shadowed face, the single bulb illuminating only small areas of her face, casting shadows in the concaved areas of her face.
Her cheeks looked sullen in a way, I assumed it was from the lack of decent food we were receiving in our humble abode.
I slowly lifted her arms from around my waist, an innocent gesture she made whilst asleep however it spam a sense of warmth within me. One I didn't even know was there.
The bed made a generously loud unsubtle wail as I stood up, cursing under my breath hoping it didn't wake Violet.
With wide-eyes I looked to her for a sign of movement but she remained tranquil and at peace in her slumber.
I cautiously made my way towards the door, looking over my shoulder every now and them to ensure she was still sleeping.
When I made it, I tapped on letter-box flap that interestingly was fitted in to the door - the main reason was to send the "food" through.
I bent down so it was eye-level and peaked through, my eyes instantly greeted with none other than the infamous Bob, snoring unattractively like the slob he evidentially seems to be.
"Oi, drool-face!" I whisper-shout through the gap in the door.
"Wake up!" I yell hushly again.
This isn't going to work.
Dry of options I lift some chipping slate from the dusted concrete floor and pelt it to his head.
"Ow!" He wails loudly like an animal causing me to abruptly return my sight on the still, thankfully, sleeping beauty.
"Let me out, Bob." I order to which he fumbles with the ring of brassy keys attached to his belt loop.
"But- What about-"
"I said let me out, Bob." I growl as quietly as I can. His eyes widely and he sloppily turns a single silver key in the lock.
"Whatever you say, Boss."
