Dangerously in Love

"Happy birthday!" I was awaken by my loud ass best friend Gaby. "Get up, its your 20th birthday. We are going out to celebrate. Now go shower and dress nice. We are leaving in thirty minutes." She smiled at me.

Today is my 20th birthday. I've been on this earth for 20 years. I can't believe it, but it's been 20 years of hell. I'm not as excited about my birthday as Gaby is, I hate my birthday, to be honest. Every year something bad has happened. On my sixteenth birthday, I broke my leg in an accident.

On my twelfth, birthday I got food poisoning. My birthdays aren't lucky, in fact my life isn't lucky. But I'm not gonna go into detail and explain why my life sucks.

I hop out the bed and go and shower. After my shower, I put on this red dress that compliments my skin tone. It's a maxi dress with a slit on the left leg. The sleeves are tank top so I bring my jacket. I don't even bother with makeup, and put curlers in my hair last night, so it'll be curly.

Making my way down stairs, I see Gaby is in the living room with out dog chi-chi. She's wearing a navy blue dress that stops just above the knee. Its a loose dress but it has long sleeves. She has her hair in a bun at the top of her head. She looks beautiful.

"Damn babe! If I wasn't taken I would totally fuck you!" She says causing me to blush.

"Thanks, you look good as hell too! Is Chris coming?" I asked.

"Yeah, but he will be late. His mom is sick so he's helping her out today. He'll meet us at the second destination for the day." She smiles and grabs my hand tugging me to the door.

"Oh okay cool. So what's the game plan for today?" I questioned while we get into the car.

"That's for me to know and for you to find out." She wiggles her eyebrows and smiles.

"Awe come on tell me. Please, please, please." I begged.

"Nope. Everything is planned out perfectly and I want you to be surprised."

"Fine." I kissed her cheek.

Gaby has been my best friend since we were in our sophomore year of high school. She's been through hell and back with me, and I am forever. I love her to death. She's the only person that I've ever been this close with. She's my only family. She knows everything about me, and I know everything about her.  We are basically the same person, but I have a more fucked up life.

I've know her boyfriend Chris since our freshman year of high school. We've never been as close as Gaby and I, but I consider him my close friend. I'm the one who got them together. Which is ironic, because I can't get myself a date. Although, I've never made any effort into getting a boyfriend.

"We're here!" She cheered.

She brought us to my favorite breakfast restaurant, The Original Pancake House. I love this place, they have the best pancakes and bacon. As we walked into the restaurant, I noticed it wasn't a lot of people here. Then again, I come here at nine in the morning.

Gaby walks us to this big booth full of people I've grown to love. It's her family, and Chris. They all cheered and wished me happy birthday. I'm very shocked, I haven't seen them in so long. Gaby and I moved an hour away from her family because of were our school is.

"Feliz Cumpleaños!" Her mom cheered and hugged me.

"Gracias!" I kissed both of her cheeks and went to go hug Gabys sister and brother.

"You look very nice." Her sister Isabella spoke hugging me.

"Thank you! I didn't know that you invited them to come out to eat." I said sitting next to Isa.
