When I said we wouldn't be asleep for long, I meant it. We went to bed at like nine, but I fell asleep like at 11. So, I got about two hours of sleep.
"Rise In Shine!" I heard Heathersford yell. I saw Joey get up, and then got his face dumped by Heathersford into the water in the barrel. Then it was me. I wanted to beat up Heathersford, but then I realized this what you have to deal with when you go through U.S. Special Forces training.
I was gargling underneath the water, as water went threw my nose and threw my mouth, because I was trying to get breath. I tried to resist the wake-up call, but Heathersford's grip was to strong and then he pulled my hair. In total, I was probably down there for about 10 seconds, divided into intervals. He did it 3 times, so about 30 seconds probably.
Once I was done from the wake-up call, I suddenly threw up right after I was done. It looked, like water mixed with chicken and broath soup, as well as some rice. As soon as I was done with the training and we would be able to go to bed, I would definitely go brush my teeth right when I had the chance to.
Now I'm wide awake, and I'm sure my partners are too.
It started off with us learning how to use a RIB boat, so we were going have to dive into the freezing cold water. That's just awesome! Am I not right? Thank God, we only had to learn how to carry it first. There was 6 of us for our boat. I was with Andy, Joey, and some other men that I had no clue who were.
I saw Heathersford picking on some other men, and I realized one of the going-to-be-soldiers wasn't using all of his strength, so he had dump his head into the sand, get it dirty enough, and then get the sand off using the freezing cold ocean water. I think he learned his lesson. Heathersford instructed how to carry the boat to the water, walking first. Then the second time, we ran as a team, making sure we weren't getting ahead of anybody so that our RIB wouldn't fall down. We dumped our RIB into the water and hopped in. Without even instruction, we started moving our boat along the water, keeping a 50-feet radius from the water.
Since we went without instruction, I figured we would get in trouble, BIG-TIME. Surprisingly, we didn't.
"Congratulations," Heathersford said. "You learned how to move a RIB properly. Good Job."
"Thank you Sargent!" We all said at the same time.
Next, we learned what to do when we were being suppressed by hostile gunfire.
"Depending on if you know where the threat is, you have multiple options. The first one is to throw a grenade. Gordon?"
Gordon quickly tossed a grenade towards Heathersford.
Now, I'm assuming you do not know how to throw a frag grenade, so, I will be showing be showing you how to use one properly."
When the Sargent said this, I was pretty sure I already knew how to throw a grenade. I was pretty sure that you had to pull a pin or something like that.
"This here, men, is a M67 Frag Grenade. Go over to the box down next to Gordon and retrieve a grenade." We all walked over to the box next to Gordon, and then picked up one grenade. Once we were all done, we went back to our spots from before. Then, Heathersford gave us a brief explanation on how to throw a Frag Grenade.
"As you can see here, there is a metal pin located on the upper body of the grenade. Do not touch it. Do you here me Private Idiot?"
"Yes Sargent!" Private Idiot said.
"So, when you pull the pin, you have a five second timer before the grenade detonates and blows up. To summarize, once you pull the pin, you get that explosive mother****** out of your hands. Now of course, you could hold out the grenade with the pin not pulled to locate where the grenade will be most useful, but, I wouldn't recommend it. Any questions?"
Andy raised his hand and then Heathersford called up on him.
"What if the pin accidentally pulls when you are in combat?" Andy asked.
"It won't, unless, your like Private Idiot over here."
