December 12, 1941-- 5 days after the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor. War has been declared, and it's official that the US as entered World War II. And I still haven't enlisted. I grew up in Montana , on my dad's farm. I was use to this sort of stuff. I hunted a lot, I did some of the agricultural work, and I did a little of everything. Now you must me thinking: This Diary Entry on a farm boy has this good of grammar, spelling and punctuation? And let me tell you something. Although I didn't get much schooling or didn't learn to much, I still tried to not sound like a complete idiot. So, I studied the 'papers on science and math and physics and all that educational stuff. (Sorry for using the word of "stuff", but remember, I'm still a farm boy) I lived with my brother, and my two sisters, as well as my mom, and my dad. My Mom was easy going, and usually was the reason why I didn't get as many spankings as I probably as I should of. I won't go into my dad to much, but he was mean. But, that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Especially in a time like this. I wont go into my dad to much, because, its probably not appropriate here.
But anyways, I still haven't enlisted and that's and issue. Normally, I would think: Why go out to War and risk my life when I can live here in Montana with my beautiful gal? What could be better? Why should I risk my life? Oh yeah. I forgot to tell you. I'm proposed to this beautiful gal, Clare. Why I couldn't get anything better. But anyways, lets go enlist. I kissed goodbye to my wonderful gal, hugged my brother, hugged my dad, and my mom, as well and I also kissed my two sisters on the cheek. I went to the military bus stop, and did my last hugs and kisses. I got on the train, and waved good-bye. And off, we were....
