The beginning

So this is here it started, I was born the 2nd of May 1997. In a small country named Denmark, in the next biggest city, called Aarhus, I was born 8 o'clock in the morning, my mother said it means I was born to be a good student, maybe she was right, maybe she was wrong, I still don't know.

When I was born my parents expected a boy, since they already had a girl, and that girl would be my older sister, she was 2 years older than me. But to much disappointment I was a girl, my father called me the ugliest baby he ever had seen, my grandmother told me I was the most unique baby she ever had seen, both might be true but one thing was for sure, they all grew to love me, since my mother later on gave birth to 5 sons. I always say they never got more daughters because they complained so much about me being a girl.

My parents had a middle income, my father had his own company and my mother was a dentist. When my mother gave birth to my oldest younger brother, who is only a year younger than me, she quit her job and decided to be a stay home mom, which she has been ever since, my family was doing well financially, my father company was growing and so was I.

When I was 5 years old, my sister became very ill, she was born with a very severe illness, which took hard on the family. Later on I became ill as well, severely ill. The hospitals blamed my parents for this, because they could not figure out what was wrong with my sister and me. That year, a few months later "the bad men" came, they took me, my sister and my 2 younger brothers, I remember hiding under the bed, not wanting to leave my parents. For some reason I knew they did not want me anything nice, hiding was useless, they found me and took me to their car, my siblings was already there, but I put up a bigger fight, I tried to bite the man who held me, but it did not help, I screamed and cried while watching the car moving further and further away from our house.

The car droved for a long time, we drove and drove, until we reached a big red wooden house, it looked like a giant kindergarten, but I knew it was not a kindergarten. It was an orphanage.

They took us inside, we were separated from each other, I shared room with my sister and 2 other girls, I did not know where my brothers were.

My sister cried, I comforted her, I told her everything will be fine, don't worry, mum and dad will find us and take us home.

For days and days I refused eating, I refused leaving my room, but it did not help, I got more and more sick, so I was taken to the hospital, later on my sister was taken to the hospital as well, but for some reason I would rather be at the hospital, than that evil place. But after awhile, I felt good enough to go back, although I would rather have stayed at the hospital. In the daytime I played with my brothers, we were only separated during the night. My sister was still at the hospital I missed her.

Every time a family came to adopt a child, I used to hide with my brothers, because we had to avoid adoption no matter what.

My parents and grandparents were allowed to visit us every 2nd week, I wish they could have come more often, but the government did not allow that, but in reality I just wanted to go home and spend time with my family, just like every other little girl could.

The days passed but and soon a year was gone by, it was soon my birthday, my only wish was to go home and live like a family.

Little did I know, that my wish would soon come true.

After a few days, my parents come to visit. They got permission to take us out to eat and buy some toys, as long as they would bring us back at 17:00. Of course they did not really want to take us out to eat and buy toys, I knew that very well, and I was right, we fled the country and became some of the most wanted people in Denmark at that time. We drove and drove, my sister was scared and cried, my brothers did not understand what was going on, but I knew exactly what was going on, I felt excited and happy, I comforted my sister and said don't worry, they will not catch us. When the clock was 17:00 we already crossed the German boarder line, and soon we reached the rented house we would stay in for a few weeks, until we had to drive on to the next place. It was a small house, 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom, a kitchen and a living room. After settling in our parents explained us that we should for every cause avoid people, because they might turn us in to the Danish government, and then we would have to go back to the orphanage.

We stayed in the house for 2 weeks, until we moved on to the next place, it was a bit bigger, but this house had a distinct moldy smell, it probably came from the carpet. We stayed there for around 3 weeks, until we moved onto the next place; this went on for about 2 years. We moved from place to place, sometimes our grandparents would come and visit us in secret, which was nice.

In a small city, in the mountains, my mother gave birth to my 3rd youngest brother, I of course hoped for a younger sister, but that did not happen. We stayed in the mountain city for a few weeks until we had to move on to the next place.

One of the places we had to stay a longer time, because my sister and I had to go to the hospital, and I got cured, so did my sister, or well we thought so, but I will explain about that later on in the story.

Anyway 2 years later around Christmas time, I prayed to god, I asked him to please let us go home for Christmas. A few days after that my father got a call from our lawyer, he said we could go home, we won the case, all this time the government was to blame, they made a mistake, but they never apologized.

But finally we could go home to our house, which was a bless. since the money was short, because my father could not work all this time.

After awhile my father started working and everything became like it was before.

It was my first day of school, I was proud, like all the other kids that day, I wore my brand new bag pack, it was almost bigger than I was, I got friends right away, we played and had fun, I loved to go to school. Sadly the happiness was short, shortly after I started school my grandmother passed away, she has cancer. I cried night after night, I felt like this was the worst thing that ever could happen to me.

But as time passed by, I learned to live with the sorrow. As that happened, the years also went by, my mother always heard nice things about me from the teachers, they always told her what a lovely girl I am, and how happy I always am, and I was always happy, my worries seemed so small back then.
