In The Arms Of My Savior

1. Perfect Timing.

Ah...This is the life.

I raised my hands up in the cold winter air, stretching from having sat down for an hour straight, relaxing away the stress and stiffness from having been in front of so many people.

Yup...A kid could get used to this. Now...I looked around the unfamiliar streets that I had wandered on, realizing that I had been separated from my mom. Where did she go?

The streets were filled with people bundled comfortably in thick coats and warm cloths, cuddling against each other for warmth. Me and my mom were currently staying in Burbank, California. A long way from our sunny beaches of Miami Florida. I missed home, even in the winter it was almost always warm.

I walked down the side walk, through the throng of aimless wanderers and tourists -like me. Me and my mom had arrived here two days ago, and would be leaving in just two more so I could get back to school. My moment of fame on todays Ellen Show- (A/N. I don't know for sure if that where it is, but thats what I found when I looked it up)- will be old news by tomorrow.

My name is Grayson Eckley, and I'm a twelve year old singing genius and a pretty okay piano player -so I've been told. I started singing at my first talent contest they were having at my school, I had been playing piano for three years before then though. My mom posted the video recording on You tube and it became pretty popular pretty fast. Next thing I know, my mom is texting me at my friends house telling my how the Ellen people had called her and wanted to schedule a show. And so, here we are! Or....here I am, I have no idea where my mom ran off to.

I remember her saying something about getting an autograph. But who's? Was that after or before she was saying something about getting souvenirs for my dad and my brother back at home?

I walked a little further and turned onto a road that I thought led back to the shop I had just left- maybe she would be there. I walked until I realized...that I was completely lost, in an unfamiliar place, and the sun was starting to go down.

Not. Good.

Great....

This is probably when I started panicking, though I'm not completely sure, time pretty much became a haze after that. All I remember was walking -alright, more like frantically running- down the street and the street lamps started coming on and the air became more frosty with each breath. Then I ran -literally- into a group of people that had been talking and not really paying attention to where they were going.

There were two girls and four guys- that I saw, after all, it was getting dark-, and they all turned their attention to me when I let out a small yelp after running into one of the guy's very hard back side, of course they stopped talking as soon as they realized I was there, looking at me with pure annoyance.

"Well, well. What do we have here? Are you lost sweety?" Said one of the girls,Her voice sounding like liquid candy, her face scanning over my body, taking in my appearance. She had blonde hair that had started turning brown at the roots, and too much make up on where it made her look years older, her smile glazing over into a knowing smirk as soon as I nodded my head.

"Well... Maybe we could help." I started backing away, her voice didn't sound like she was interested in helping me. Her fake manicured finger nails tracing down my jaw line, making me shiver, she only smiled.

"N-no thanks, I'll be fine." I turned to run but was caught sharply by the collar and pulled back.

"Hey kid. Didn't you hear her?" The man that held me pulled me up to his dirty, leather tanned face, his facial features in a permanent scowl. "She said she wanted to help." He smirked and threw me back over to the woman that I had talked to first, landing at her high heeled clad feet. I landed on my side right in front of her, rolling over on my back and groaning.
