**Chapter 1**

I woke up in a strange facility. No sign of anything or anyone alive.

The cold, dry and musty air was filled with a heavy smell of blood and ash.

The thick smell of iron made my stomach turn.
I braced myself on a big rock and stood up.

When I looked around me all I could see was ruins of what once must have been a church.

It was dead silent, not a hint of sound to be heard except some occasionally crumbling rocks and wood creaking.

A chill went down my spine.

I was in the middle of a burnt down village. There were burnt corpses everywhere, both young and old.

The scene made bile shoot up my throat. I covered my mouth to keep it in as tears ran down my grimy cheeks. I stood there waiting for the bile to go down before I wiped my mouth and began to walk.

As I walked I looked around for any other survivors. Just as I thought I was the only person alive I heard a high pitched scream.

I ran towards it even though my gut told me to run away. When I arrived I saw three men in old rusty armours shoving their knives through a girl..

They were skinning a girl of my age whilst she was still alive, and no matter how much or how loud she screamed, no one came to her aid.

Her tear filled eyes found mine.
I was so scared that I couldn't move.
It was like my body had turned to stone, unable to do anything but stare.

She kept her eyes on me as they violated her body while laughing.

I wanted to do something, but my body wouldn't move. I wretched and tried to cover my mouth with my hands.
Tears runs down my face as I watch. Her head tilted back with her mouth wide open. She let's out a scream of agony before she goes still.

I didn't want to look, yet I couldn't tear my eyes from her, and the things that was done to her. I was trapped..

Her body hangs still, violated.

A young life taken..
