Achievements
Throughout his career, Taeyang has sold an estimated 10 million records, making him one of the best-selling male South Korean artists. On 23 November 2010, Taeyang was presented with an award for his contribution to pop culture at the 2010 Korea Popular Culture and Arts Award Ceremony held by the South Korean . In 2017, he was appointed as an honorary ambassador for the in , being one of the stars tasked with extolling the virtues of South Korea for the world. Taeyang has earned two , three , including Male Musician of the Year by Netizen Vote in 2011, three and four . His song "Eyes, Nose, Lips", released in 2014, won Song of the Year in all major Korean awards, including , Golden Disc Awards, Melon Music Awards, and , making him the first R&B solo artist to do so.
The release of his first full-length album, , was the first K-Pop music release to be sold worldwide on as both an audio and video album. The audio version hit iTunes stores on 19 August 2010, while the video version arrived by 10 September 2010. His second album is the highest peaking album by a Korean soloist on the chart by debuting at number 112.
