Prologue

"What is it, my Prince?" I asked, slightly curtsying.

He waved his hand in dismissal and smiled.

I stood up straight. "You know what your mother said about formalities."

He just took my hand in his and pointed to the sky.

I looked at it. "Yeah. It's really pretty."

He grinned and looked at me, now pointing at me. He pointed at the stars, then did a thumbs down before sweeping both hands in front of him and pointing to me.

'Not as pretty as you.' I translated in my head.

I couldn't help the blush that was spreading across my face.

"You shouldn't hold my hand. Your mother is right inside. You know she doesn't approve of me. " I told him.

He just shrugged.

I sighed. "I really should go. This is a ball. You shouldn't be seen with only one girl. Especially if that girl is me."

He looked at me again, frowning.

I looked back, my gaze sad. "You know it's true." I let my hand slip out of his.

I turned around and began walking to the balcony doors.

I heard footsteps. Then two arms wrapped around me.

I smiled.
