Two Years Ago

I stand two feet away from the bars, looking at him.

"Why?" I ask him, tears starting to cloud my vision.

"You deserved it." He replies. I start silently crying.  My father always hated me. If he were to choose four people that he loved... he would choose him, my mom, Caleb, and a model. He thought of me as a disgrace to the family.

"You never seem to get it do you? You should have never been born into the Prior family, nobody could ever learn to love you, much less like you. No wonder you don't have any friends. Cause you are just full of shi-"

"STOP IT RIGHT NOW DAD!!!" I am now shaking and crying uncontrollably.

" Actually,"I say starting to calm down "you don't even deserve that title"

I take a step towards him, unsure of myself, and start screaming at him like my life depended on it.

" YOU WERE NEVER A FATHER TO ME!! YOU KNOW, I ALWAYS DREAMED OF HAVING A FATHER WHO WAS KIND, AND SWEET TO ME!!! WHO WOULDN'T BEAT ME, AND CUSS AT ME, AND WOULD LOVE ME!!!!!!!" I didn't realized the mistake I had made until the moment it came out, because then, someone had started to squeeze my throat. Black dots started to appear and I felt my head banging up against the bars.  I heard yells what seemed to be a thousand years away. And then,

                      All was black.

Present Day

I shudder from the sudden memory. I realized that I had been thinking about Andrew all this summer, then I realize that the clock reads 10:45, and that I should be getting ready for bed. I quickly shower and get into to my Hello Kitty pajamas. I pick up the book I was reading and recite a line outloud just for the fun of it.

" ' I do, Augustus.  I do.' " By this point I am bawling my eyes out. Then I remember I have school tomorrow. Yippee, I just love going to a new school with no friends. This is going to be a great year. And please notice the sarcasm dripping from my voice like venom. I plop down on my pillow, and eventually sleep pulls me under.
