PROLOGUE
"So for all you ever desired, ever wanted to be
Was shining so bright but only a dream
And nothing remains but this fantasy
Oh this world is falling down"

A New Life
It was to begin by a misty lake. It boiled its black waters on its own accord and troubled me deeply, with its heavy vapours blistering my thick skin. However the lake was as cold as ice, so I was not too sure how obtaining such blisters were entirely possible. I could have possibly tried to breathe the fumes in, but already I felt poisoned enough.
She tried to creep up behind me. I might not have acknowledged her presence if it wasnât for her cold heavy shadow weighing on my thoughts and the sound of her chains: To any movement, those metallic disks of torture could be heard.
Those certain chains I decided to choose were my favourites, probably the reason why I chose steel and not wooden. anyhow, the wooden ones cause unnecessary splinters, and no matter how deadly you may or may not be, it seems too excessive.
But Kayla was deadly. I guess it figured that the louder her chains were, the more warning I would get, and therefore the longer I would live. Not that I was new to the whole pandemonium.
However my sinister stirrings were eventually interrupted in the deathly silence the two of us were held in. A single weak uttering was suddenly heard from where nothing once remained.
"I'm sorry." She attempted to mumble.
"I can learn to change."
DON'T LISTEN! Her words are merely poison in my veins, I remembered thinking. Remember who she is, what that thing has done to deserve this.
I turned towards the blood sodden creature.
"But my dearest Kayla, that is the biggest lie you've told yet. Don't tell me you're sorry, because you're not."
Almost patronising, but never completely harsh. I had been described as that before, but I had never gathered how true it was.
"This is entirely your fault. You've put me in this position, and now you must stay here to finish what youâve started."
Of course it didn't work. I knew that. Her arms were already vanishing into the blood and dust around her. Soon there would be nothing left but the glistening remains of her skin.
But then she cracked.
With a menacing laugh, she broke free of her attempted act.
"IF YOU THINK THIS WILL WORK, THEN YOU ARE WRONG!
YOU CAN'T EVEN TOUCH ME!
I AM GOD!" She screamed.
Those bitter words that I remember so well absorbed into the darkness around her and the cruel bitterness of the night.
Finally. Her colours had shown.
It pays to trust your instincts....

thanks for reading this so far- ive only got the prologue at the moment, but I have a 1st chapter which will give it more sense(soon to follow). im going to put song lyrics at the beginning of each chapter from a song (or a poem) which i think suits the tone of the passage- so this one is a song called A prophecy of worlds to fall by xandria- its quite a crazy song but still, it works :) i have lots of time right now, so the next installment should be soon!
thanks again, and hope youve enjoyed it so far!
Eleanor :)
