Yaxel's POV
"Who is she," I asked turning to Maria. "I don't know, I think she's the new girl," Maria snapped. The girl walking toward us had very light blonde hair, pale skin, and eyes that looked almost yellow.
"This is Annalise," Eryn, Ebony's older brother said. "What role does she have?" Hanna asked. I hoped silently that she would be my partner and Maria would have the solo assignment. Right now Maria is my partner and I hate it.
"Annalise will be your distraction, she will attract the guards and soldiers so that you guys can take control of the city," Eryn answered. Why did she get the solo assignment? I thought, she's only met us today and we go out on our first assignment tomorrow. That's not fair.
"You all know that we have taken your last names in order to keep you guys a secret," Eryn explained. Maria snorted. "Today you are going to find out your new 'names'" he continued.
"You can go first Maria," Eryn sneered "Maria Conquere for what we found you trying to do."
Eryn walked over to me. "Yaxel Reign for the same reason as Maria," I nodded, it was a nice name.
"Ebony," Eryn said with a sigh, "Ebony Graze for throwing a spear at a C.A. guard." Ebony looked shocked and stared back at his brother. "Hey you scared me, that was self defense!" Ebony yelled. "Don't care," Eryn answered.
"Hanna, um, Hanna Crimson," Eryn looked directly at her, "I think you know why," Hanna nodded. She obviously knew why. I'm pretty sure that none of us actually knew why she was brought here except her and Eryn.
"Annalise you will be called Annalise Raid," Annalise smiled knowing exactly why that was what they picked. Hers was a little similar to mine. "Annalise you were the only person to escape the soldiers who gather worthy people for nine months, that's why you are the distraction."
