"I... Lucas..." He starts, but chokes on his own words. I stand up, sighing and gently grabbing his hand. I knew it was coming the moment he shook his head, indicating to shut my mouth and not say a word.

"Not here, not in front of everyone." I whisper, my eyes never leaving the floor. I take him outside, behind the oak tree, so no one can see us. My body is shaking from the pain he is about to put me through. But I say nothing, I will not beg him to change his mind.

"Now...you can say it." I choke the words out and start studying the wet grass. He doesn't say a word for a second and hope starts rising inside of me. Maybe he has changed his mind? Maybe he indeed wants me to be his mate?

"I Lucas Jonathan Arnolds, reject you Analise Joanna Thompson as my mate." he says with no remorse and the pain instantly hits me. Pain as if someone is chopping my limb and shutting my breathing system.

"I..." I start sobbing from the pain I feel inside of me. How pathetic. "Analise Joanne Thompson accept your rejection." I whisper in low voice and as he starts going away I start bending with pain, choking and barely breathing. Every step he takes away from me is another knife stabbed inside of me. I know he is going to her... He is always going back to her... School's It Girl, Samantha Smith, girl with everything.

I slide down the tree and put my head on the tree, tears streaming down my face, I no longer care that people might see me, or that they will ask questions and gossip. The only thing bothering me is pain of loss for the mate. I clench my stomach again, my insides twisting and the sensation of nausea feels me. I close my eyes and try to disappear from the universe. More tears start appearing on my puffy face, my eyes redden and I start gritting my teeth. My world is getting blurry, barely making able to see anything and then slowly, world is being engulfed into darkness.

"Lisa?" A gentle voice whisper-calls my name, thus waking me from my painful and dreamless sleep. I tiredly open my eyes and meet the deep foster green eyes. "Hey, come here." He says in low voice and opens his arms for a hug, but no strength is left inside of me to hug him. I just sit there, my back touching the tree, emotionless and full of pain striking me. "Okay..." He says awkwardly and smiles at me, sitting next to me. "How are you?" He asks but I don't even open my mouth, I know that words won't come out.

"Come, I am going to take you home." He whispers and stands up, offering me his arm to lean on, but the moment I stand my legs become jelly, and I fall back. I look up with him with tears swelling in my eyes. How pathetic must I look to him.

He shakes his head and leans down, picking me up in bridal style and takes me into his car, setting me on passenger side. He sits on his side and starts the engine. I know that school isn't over it, but I say nothing. I steal glances of him, and wonder why he is helping, but I don't say a word, just stare at the horizon.

He stops at my house, and looks back at me. His warm green eyes are piercing through me and shield I have made over two hours. I start shaking and tears slowly start escaping my rip. I have been trying to maintain them our whole journey.

"Are you okay?" He asks me and I shake my head wildly, he sighs and leans forward, hugging me tightly, making me to wish he was my mate and not that jerk rejecting me. "Don't worry... it will be okay..." He mumbles in my hair and starts stroking them. "He will come around... I hope so." he says while gently patting me.

"I doubt that." I manage to choke the words out and he smiles at me. "He loves her, and he will always be in love with her." I whisper in lost voice and look down at my hands, which most of the time are tainted with paints.

"Don't worry about it." He whispers again and smiles at me one more time.

"Why... why are you helping me?" I whisper in confused voice and look at his shiny brown hair and kind smile. "You haven't talked to me since... since..." I am not able to finish and start sobbing again.

"Because I can't stand seeing Luke hurting you like that." He whispers and looks away from me. "You don't deserve to be treated like that, Lisa." He adds and gives me tight smile. "I hoped... I hoped you would have found someone worth of you." He whispers again and puts his hand atop of mine.

"You never answered me." My voice is cold suddenly and I can feel myself becoming void of emotions. "Why now, Mike?" I whisper and look at him.

"Because when I saw you like that, I understood how much I still cared about you." he whispers and starts playing with my locks. "I missed you, Analise..." He whispers and smiles sadly at me. "Can we still be friends?"

"Can we be friends?" The young boy appears in front of me out of nowhere. He has shiny brown hair and eyes which look like forest I play in. "My name is Michael, but you can call me Mike." He introduces himself happily.

"My name is Analise." I say cheerfully, shaking his hand as he has left no room for me to decline his offer of friendship. "But you can call me Lisa." I announce and give him toothy smile.

"I like your name." He says and leans forward, kissing my cheek gently. "And I like you."

"Sure." I whisper in low voice and nod. "We can be friends again." I say and give him a small smile. But the pain hits me again, making me clench my stomach again in order to make it stop.

"Will it ever stop?" I ask in low voice and he looks sadly at me, disappointed in his best friend. "Wanna come in?" I ask out of politeness rather than wanting him next to me. All I want now is to stay alone.

"No, I have to go somewhere." He says through gritted teeth as he notices the situation I am into. "I hope... You will feel better." He whispers and helps me go inside the house, giving me over to my mother and explaining everything to her in a low voice.

But before she can come in the living room and talk about it, I am already falling into the deep slumber.
