Chapter Two
Like a line of dominoes, the battle filled clearing grew silent. Those fighting stepped apart and turned in the direction of the sound.
With a swift bite, I pushed the black wolf to the ground with a final growl. The howl had a familiar ring to it. The mists swirled as I walked through the crowd of wolves; half had smug grins on their wolfish faces, the others looked very sullen and or worried.
Lying in the tall grass was a raggled body. Sticking out from amidst the dried blood was copper colored fur. Anger swirled inside me as my eyes flashed red. A deep growl rumbled in my throat as I turned my narrowed, anger filled eyes towards Damion, my fur a shade of black darker than his.
"Leave NOW," I growled, stalking closer; my dark body low to the ground with my white teeth bared. My fur stood on end which effectively worked to make me look twice my size.
"But dear, this is just finally getting interesting," he replied with a smirk, his tail flicking behind him.
I lunged at his throat as my anger grew. Pinning him to the ground, my claws dug into his skin, a trail of blood trickled from below my paws. "This fight is over. Our alpha may be hurt, but their is still consequences on your side. One rogue life was lost in this battle, someone you probably didn't even know. Not only that, but many others are wounded. This is no longer a fight you will win."
Stepping away backwards, I dragged my claws partially down his belly. His smug grin had slipped away to be replaced with shock. He stood up slowly, pain hidden behind a stony facade and look amongst the crowd around us. The wolves of the pack had moved to stand behind me, creating a barrier between other wolves and the alpha, their heads held high as they were empowered by my words. The most of the rogues had slunk their way into the mist, their outlines barely visible through the fog. On the other had, a handful of rogues still stood behind their leader a select two still prepared to fight.
"This is it for now Rainbow, but time will only make us stronger. How will your pack, your father, fare then," the rouge leader spoke with power behind his words. He didn't leave any chance for response as he let loose a howl of retreat. His black form disappeared leaving behind only a trail of blood.
With the threat gone, all eyes turned towards the alpha. My fur flattened and my ears were pulled close to my now scratched, white furred body as a moved through my fellow packmates closer to my father. An unwavering look of worry was stuck to my face despite the turmoil inside. Unbeknownst to me, a trail of white seemed to glow behind me as I grew nearer, each step making it slightly brighter.
Laying down, my head placed between my paws, I nuzzled my father's nose. Groggy eyes blinked, barely staying open. My wolf's voice echoed in my brain so fast I could barely register her words. My eyes became pure black as she took over control.

Rain was pushed into what can most simply be described as the mind realm, momentarily lost from the current happenings. This is something have to do. I couldn't see the alpha lost. The pack would still need him in the time to follow. I can't understand it all myself. Chopped up images aren't helpful enough to for me to piece together the whole vision that's trying to come across to me. All I know is now is not his time to pass. Neither him, nor his wolf, are ready to move on.
Momentarily, time slowed to a stop as I rose to my paws. "Don't worry alpha. The pain won't last much longer." I took in a deep breath and exhaled. I clawed at the dirt below my left paw. One, two, three, four times resulting in a star-shaped pattern. A bubble formed around us as the alpha rose from the ground, his body floated at eye level.
Blood stopped dripping from his body as the scars began to glow a faint golden color. Stepping forward, I touched my head to his. Pain flowed through the two of us, I felt the pain he felt. What I know know is if someone had waited much longer to help him, it was highly likely he would be lost. Most of it was slowly fading away but a spot on his hind leg and side was unwavering. That leg was broken in two and he had a number of broken ribs, both breaks i'm currently unable to mend. It would take too much time and i'm already risking losing control and going full on wolf mode. I can only stay in control so long, though I can say rain and I have more control than most.
The pain from the scratches had all disappeared. I stepped back, beginning to let Rain regain control. The alpha's body floated down to rest where he was previously laying.
~~~~~
For a moment, all I could see was a glowing white outline. My head felt like it was spinning as pain quickly faded from my side and leg. Those around me stood like statues.
"Hati, what did you do!" I exclaimed in my mind.
"I'm sorry Rain, I had to. Alpha would likely have died if I didn't. Neither Crito nor Zayev were ready to leave this realm," Hati's voice replied.
All at once, everything burst into motion. Everyone began moving, looking around, and talking in worried voices. Their voices all sounded like echos being called out from afar. A copper paw moved in front of me. A shiver ran dawn my spine and spots crossed my vision. Dad's head moved slowly and came to rest facing at me.
As our eyes met, the world around me began to spin. The last thing I remember is collapsing to the ground before a black void consumed me.
