CHAPTER 9

Jannet's POV

literally why did I even accept to take up the challenge to find who the girl was, i mean how the hell am I going to find her and .... what about,
"forget about Ray and move on?"
I decided to give up this meaningless search and meet Ray in the place he had decided.

I went back home and took a shower, when I came out of my room I saw a huge white box lying on the bed with a flower and note next to it.

Who came and kept it there? how did that person even enter my house?

I took a step towards my bed and opened the box and was surprised to see a beautiful light pink gown with a deep V neckline with some matching jewelry. I took the white rose lying beside the box in one hand and the note in the other. I opened the note and read...

'HEY BEAUTIFUL!

GLAD THAT YOU GOT THIS GIFT FROM MY SIDE. HOPE TO SEE YOU IN THIS DRESS IN THE PLACE WE DECIDED. WAITING FOR YOU.

LOVE'

Who is this? and when did this person and i decide a place to meet?

Then is struck to me that this was none other than Ray, and the shock when i realized that he called me 'BEAUTIFUL' and 'LOVE'!!

It took me about an hour or so to get over the two words written in the note.
Why am i thinking so much? Its just two words and they mean nothing. Get urself together idiot!!

I started changing into the dress he gave,
Hey! The dress looks expensive i cant just leave it there!!

In the end, after all the makeup and the other stuff girls do to get ready, i looked like someone ready to walk a famous fashion brand's ramp. The dress was so elegant, my makeup and my hair was done by my friend who is also running a salon.
I grabbed my purse which had everything and my car keys and rushed to the place we discusses on.

At the place

I was shocked was an understatement. There was a pathway filled with roses of different colours which led to a place which was covered by the trees.
Was he expecting me to bring her here? Is that why all the decorations are made? Oh shit! What's going to happen when he see's that i didnt bring her?
I walked where the flowered pathway took me. And there in front of me was something even more surprising. Somewhere inside Me I felt jealous to know that he was doing all this for 'her', I knew that I could never be here so better savour this moment.

A slow song started to play, I could feel someones presence behind me, when i turned around I saw him.
The man who did this all for someone who is not me.
"May I have this dance?"
He extended his hand. Confusion was all over my face,
Why me? Shouldn't he be dancing with his so called lover?
Instead of asking the endless questions blasting in my head I gave my hand to him. He escorted me to the centre area and guided my hands around his neck and he placed his hands on my waist. A thousand sparks erupted in the place he played his hands, even after so many years I still feel those sparks and butterflies and what not.
I decided to break the awkwardness which i was creating.
"Hey by the way I didn't... umm.. find out who the girl is"
He just looked at me and smiled.
"I knew you wouldn't be able to find her so i brought her here! "
Woah! Wasn't expecting that.
"Oh wow! That's better"
I said with a fake smile. He looked so excited in showing me the girl he loved a lot, but he couldn't see my heart breaking within the seconds passing by.
"Come I'll take you there, I want you to meet her. "
"Um.. sure.. let's go. "
He pulled me further into the trees and stopped near a huge box sort of room.
"Jannet go inside the room, there she will be, the girl who I'm going to marry! "
I didn't want to, but I had to.
I stepped inside the room, it was dark so i couldnt see anything, suddenly the lights was switched on, and I could see everything.
The room was filled with mirrors on all sides and rose petals on the floor. I was beyond confused.
Where is she? Why are there mirrors all around?
When I turn to my side I see Ray standing there, next to me.
"Saw her? How does she look? "
"But Ray I can't see anyone!! Who are you talking about? "
"Oh god! I'll show you wait. "
I was waiting patiently, he held me by my shoulders and turned me around and pointed at the mirror in front of me.
"See! There she is. "
"But Ray that's me........ what?!"
I turned around to face him in disbelief and saw him on his knees.
"Jannet! Yes it's you, it's always been you. I've loved you from the first time I laid eyes on you, only that the then small boy didn't have the guts to tell you. I've loved being around you, I wanted us to be more than friends, that's why I decided to tell you my feelings through Cassandra but I didn't know she would twist it all around, yes I came to know what she did on the wedding day! That's why I cancelled the marriage, and I also know that you had confessed your feelings to her about me. I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for not telling you that I love you that day, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings time and again. I want us to start fresh with a life filled with love, honesty, and a strong bond. So Jannet Robert, will you marry me"
He pulled out a beautiful ring. The tears were unstoppable, we both sure did go through a lot to reach here. I can't believe this is actually happening.

"Y-yes... YES! a million times yes!"
His face lighted up like a Christmas tree with a million lights on it. Tears of joy emerged from my eyes.
This moment, this day was the most memorable one.
The love of my life has become my fiance and future husband, what else could a girl wish for?
