After lunch I went to get changed into something more comfortable for walking. When I was dressed I found Gabriel waiting outside my door “ready my lady” I laughed and took his arm. We live in Northampton it is quite a elegant place. After it was rebuilt, my parents were there when the fire happened and the part of the town that was on fire was enraged in red and orange flames licking the various houses. Gabriel and I walked down the street talking to each other about everything that happened. “Thank you Gabriel without you I’d be black and blue right now. You’re a really good friend.” He didn’t say anything. Neither of us spoke until we got to the village then he sighed and said “I heard your conversation with that captain fellow.” I thought for a second then replied “what about when he said that you were my pet, don’t listen to him. He is a brute.” Then he sighed again “I don’t mean that, mean what he said about… about me being a lover of other men”. Before I could reply a dark figure stepped out from behind a tree “well, well Gabriel is there something that you want to tell everyone?”. The figure was Michael Williams. He is the most stuck up boy in the village, his father was the richest merchant in the county. He had dark black hair and bright green eyes. He was smiling at us smugly. “Didn’t your mother ever tell you that it was rude to eves drop Michael?” I asked angrily. He smiled at me in a way that made me want to slap him. Gabriel held my arm and said “it’s alright Juliet, no Michael. We were discussing what a sea captain had said. Not that it was any of your business Michael. He had lost interest in what Gabriel was saying and was staring at me the way he stared at every girl he saw. I’m not saying this to bost, in fact I don’t know why people even say this but I have been told a few times that I’m somewhat desirable in the village and Michael seemed to think so. “beautiful day isn’t Juliet” he said still smiling. “It was going to be” I said smiling. Gabriel laughed at this And Michael looked at him angrily. “Do you think that’s funny Halford?”. Gabriel stopped laughing and replied quite coolly “ no Williams I don’t find anything about you funny or interesting for that matter”. Michael turned a dark shade of red at this point I stepped in “yes lets be grown ups and stop this fighting” then I turned to Gabriel and said “come on Gabriel lets go” Gabriel was still staring at Michael coldly. So I had to tug on his arm and he followed. When we out of Michael’s ear shot then I said “you really shouldn’t fight with Michael like that. Its not gentlemanly Gabriel. It does not suit you. You are better than that and better than Michael Williams. He looked at me. “for me please?” I said. He smiled and agreed “fine but I’m not doing it because you asked. I’m doing it because I want to. I smiled. We walked up to our hill and sat down. “I found this on the floor of the library” Gabriel reached into his jacket and held out a familiar brown rectangle object “my book” I said happily. Then despite myself I hugged Gabriel “thank you Gabriel. Not just for the book for everything.” I let go and Gabriel flushed “you are my best friend Gabriel and I don’t know what I’d do without you.” Then after a minute “do you want me to read you some?” he smiled at me “yes Juliet that would be good”.

“Lady Jane Grey was a tragic figure. She was used as a puppet in  the year15.53.She didn’t want to be Queen and reined for 9 days until Queen Mary better known as bloody Mary was declared rightful heir to the thrown…and seventeen year old Jane and her young husband Guilford’s fate was sealed…they both were beheaded” I closed the book “I think that’s enough of that” I said and looked at  Gabriel and he looked back at me. “Everyone is so stressed recently, don’t you think?”. “well there’s that ball coming up. the new comer in town has decided to hold a ball. Which is quite brave isn’t?” Gabriel looked at me “as much as I love dressing up and planning ball’s would you explain to me how you find this man brave for holding a ball” he asked me sarcastically. I ignored him “well he is inviting a bunch of strangers into his home isn’t he?”. Gabriel smiled and laughed “yes quite a brave one isn’t he”. I looked at the sky “it’s getting pretty dark Gabriel will you walk me home?”. “of course I will Juliet.”
