The dream was too weird to think about. The nightmare that I just had left me looking up at the ceiling and leaving me with a small panic attack. It's not the first time I had this dream. I don't know what's wrong with me.
"Liam, Travis is here!" My mom shouted.
I sighed as I threw my covers off and dragged myself out of bed. I threw on a black ACDC shirt and went down stairs.
When I got down stairs, I saw Travis eating an apple and leaning on the staircase rail.
"What took you so long? Wow you look horrible." Travis said as he took another bite of his apple.
"I overslept." I lied, "And gee, thanks for the compliment." I grumbled.
"One: you're a horrible liar, and Two: you're welcome." Travis smiled and then shrugged as he took a big bite out of his apple.
"Yeah, I know."
"Now, go get dress we're going to be late."
"Late for what?" I asked as I ran my fingers through my hair.
"School, we're fourteen we go to school." Travis rolled his eyes.
I completely forgot that today is Thursday.
I looked down at my watch, and bolted upstairs back in my room.
I threw on a pair of warn out black jeans, a red hoodie over my ACDC shirt, and a pair of vans ( Yes without any socks, fight me). I grabbed my phone off the desk and I managed to grab my backpack as well ( thank God), and ran back downstairs.
"Wow, that was fast."
"Let's go."
"Bye boys!"
"Bye, Mrs. Daniels!" Travis shouted back.
I should've grabbed my jacket instead, it was so cold outside (what do I expect. It's the middle of November), and to make things even "better, it started to rain as well. Hey, that's Seattle weather for ya.
"So, any plans for your birthday tomorrow?" Travis asked as he threw away his apple core.
"No not really. My dad said he might take me to a Sea hawks game to make it up to me, the next time he see's me." I said with a shrug.
"Have you heard from him?" Travis asked.
"No."
My parents spilt when I was nine, I live here in Seattle with my mom while my dad lives in Portland, Oregon so I rarely see him. He doesn't come around as much as he used to.
"You can come over to my house if you want, we're having this weird family game night. Somehow, it always ends with my Aunt, Unlce, and my older sister fighting."
Ahh family game night at the Hale's house, I think I'll pass. I'm still picking out Monopoly game pieces of out my hair.
"No, its fine. I'll spend the rest of my birthday in my room watching YouTube and playing video games."
"Is that all you ever do?" Travis asked.
"Hey, I sleep, eat, go to the bathroom...okay that's all I ever do."
I was hoping that school would go by fast. Sadly, I was mistaken. School went on for hours and hours until seventh period. While my teacher was going on about quantum physics, I slowly started to zone out and before I knew it, I fell asleep.
The weird dream from before started again.
I found myself in a really nice room. Nice pure white floral wallpaper, polished marble tile floors, and a crystal chandelier. Who's ever house this is ( I'm assuming that I'm inside a house) got bank.
I started to walk around trying to figure out my surroundings when all of a sudden, a fire broke out. I heard a scream for help coming from another room. The cry for help has gotten louder as I kept following the sound. I stopped in a room swallowed by flames and caught in the middle of it was a woman.
The woman has curly brown hair, fair skin, and large golden brown eyes. She was really pretty too.
The woman was on her knees holding something to her chest. I didn't really see what she was holding but, it was swaddled in a blanket.
"Ignatius!" The woman screamed.
"Help!" The woman looked at me with sad pleading eyes, I was going to help her but the ceiling started to crumble. The woman quickly pushed the bundle of swaddled blankets away from where she was and the ceiling collapsed on her.
"No!" I screamed.
I bolted away and looked around. Thankfully I was in the safety of my third period classroom. Unfortunately, that didn't save me from the embarrassment.
The classroom was filled with laughter and I slowly started to slump down in my seat, hoping that if I go lower enough people won't be able to see me.
"Who's Ignatius?" Travis asked as I was putting my books in my locker.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Travis smiled. "Don't play dumb, you kept saying Ignatius in your sleep."
"That's probably why people were laughing." I murmured.
"No it wasn't, you were drooling and it got all over your desk." Travis explained while laughing.
"Don't you have soccer practice or something?" I asked, obviously highly annoyed.
"Nope," Travis said, "Coach canceled practice, he said something about the weather. Wow, it's really coming down out there." Travis said as he looked outside.
"Hey, can you text your mom to see if she can give me a ride?" Travis asked.
I didn't hear him. I kept thinking about that voice I heard in my dream. You're next. What does that even mean?
"Liam?"
Next for what? I really don't know, I was going deep into my thoughts until I felt a shard pinch coming from my left arm.
"Ow, what?"
"Dude, you've got to stop zoning out like that. It's creepy and weird. Mostly creepy." Travis said as he slammed his locker door shut.
"Anyways, you didn't answer my question."
"Okay, what was your question?"
"I said, can you text your mom to see if she could give me a ride home. My aunt, uncle, and my sister aren't home."
"Yeah, I'll ask." I said with a smile.
We waited for my mom to pull up in front of the school. All I can think about was that nightmare that I keep having.
