Chapter 2

As soon as I see the Florida State University sign I shiver in my seat. I start to turn in behind my parents car and head towards the Building I'll be living in. I look around at all the students walking or standing talking to other people some I presume are their parents holding boxes. Some seem nervous and some seem excited. I lay under the nervous label. I look over at Nate who is sitting straight up in his seat with a hand in the door handle smiling and looking around everywhere. He would be under the excited label. It's almost a relief that he's not nervous also. It's refreshing.

My mother parks in a parking spot and I park right next to them and turn down the music. Nate's moving so fast mumbling under his breath and reaches over and starts shaking me. " Kelsey lighten up, be joyful! We are gonna be free to do whatever we want here!" He let's go while I'm pushing him off, "yeah yeah it's gonna be something." I start looking around and start to get out of the car. My sister looks amazed by the campus and my mother looks almost frightful and excited. My mother's boyfriend is already unpacking the cars and loading up peoples arms with boxes. I grab a couple and get out my phone and look to see what dorm I'm in. My mother's talking to Jon whom is my mother's boyfriends name and she turns to me. "Ok lead the way." "It's the 2nd floor W 25" I sat and start walking. My sister jobs up beside me. "I wonder what your roommate is like, this is so exciting look how big the campus is!" She says in a higher pitched voice. "I think I even saw this really cute guy looking at me! Or maybe he was looking at you!" Of course she would notice that. " yeah probably you." I say and She starts smiling and looking away.

We walk into the 1st floor so we can go to the second floor and it's smells really weird and there are guys and girls out in the hallways laughing and joking around. Some have their doors open and their families are in there with them getting them moved in. Looking back at my mom she's wide eyed. "I didn't know the floors are Co-ed floors." I didn't either. "Kelsey you already know, no boys allowed in your room." Yeah yeah I don't think we have that to worry about.

"Hey this is my room!" Nate says enthusiastically. "I'll put these few boxes in my room and meet my roommate and the meet you up in your room later!" He says and rushes into his room. "Ok bye." I say but he's already gone. I take a deep breath and start walking up the stairs and we reach my floor. I stop and take in the scene. My sister by my side some group of three guys eyeing her and you can tell she loves it. There are guys in sweatshirts and sweat pants whom I presume are athletes or I don't even know they look like creeps and a group of girls accross the hall gawking at them. Two guys are are like trying to rap I think they are actually high. That's just great. Out of the corner of my eye I can tell my mom is staring at them and she is worried.

Then we find my room and the door is already open and I walk in cautiously. "Here it is, this is tiny." My mom says. I look towards the other side of the room and this girl who has medium blonde hair and she has a pink dress on that has white and purple flowers on it. She has your hair streightened. She turns around and smiles at me. "You must be Kelsey, omg your so pretty." She says. "And you must be Sophie!" I say smiling and hug her back. My mom jumps in "Hi I'm Kelsey's mom Kimberly but you can just call me Kim darling." My mom says smiling you can tell she approves. "I am so happy you're here I wish I would have had my family stay later so we could all meet but they had to leave early. I am so happy to meet you." She talks really fast but seems nice. I'm glad. This is relieving. "That's ok, I'm happy to meet you." I look around at her side of the room and it's very colorful but neat. Everything goes so well with eachother and she has tons of jewlery that covers her dresser. I notice that first because you can tell she keeps her self put together.

"I'm actually heading to the café to meet my boyfriend and I'll be back later so we can catch up and get to know eachother, it was so nice to meet you guys!" She smiles and puts her hand on my moms arm as a gentle touch and smiles at us and leaves the room. "Well She seems sweet, I'm glad you got a roommate like her." My mom says. "Yeah, I really like her style, she is so pretty!" My sister says and she starts openeing boxes. "Ok well we can start unpacking." And my mother and Jon head back to the car to grab the rest of my belongings and I sit on the bed with one of my boxes sighing. Here it is. The rest of my 4 years. This college.
