Chapter 3

When I wake up I look around slightly and see Sophie at her mirror doing her makeup with her head phones in. Quietly singing along with the music in whispers. She turns around "Morning!" She says in a cheery voice. "Morning." I say rubbin my eyes and sitting up in bed. She continues to do her makeup and I pick up my book that's laying on my bed and I sit it on my side table and grab my phone. No texts. Shocker. I get up and look in the mirror and of course I look rough. "What are your plans today Kels?" She asks looking actually interested. I think for a minute about how boring I'm about to sound, "um probably just staying here, I might got grab a bite in the quad." I say shaking my head and rubbing my forehead, eyebrows stitched together. I feel bad she has a boring roommate like me. I mean I like going out and having fun but I don't really have any friends here besides Nate and well I guess Sophie.

"Oh no dear, come with me and my boyfriend today we are going bowling in town today." She looks at me and I glance at her and continue looking through my drawers for an outfit. "I.. I don't know, I don't want to be a burden, I mean you guys can go on your date. It'll probably be awkward anyways." I stutter a little and pull out my dark blue ruffled blouse and some Kahki shorts. "No no, Aaron was actually going to bring his friend because his friend is a freshman this year too so Aaron wanted to show him around a bit." That will Be even more awkward, I'm not good around guys. I look at her and smile faintly and shrug. "Well think about it ok?" She asks smiling. "Ok I will think about it." I say and start getting undressed out of my PJs. I walk to my phone to text Nate and see what he is doing.

ME- "Hey what ar e you doing today?"
It takes him less than a minute to text back ever.
NATE- "Hanging out with my rommate today!"
Of course, I guess I should too. I really don't want to feel awkward but I can't be boring.
ME- "ugh ok."
Less than 30 seconds later.
NATE- "Kels, boo I can't be your only friend, we are in college now go out and do something."

I choose not to reply back to him and set my phone down and spin towards Sophie.
She's looking at me smiling like she knows what I'm about to say.
"Ok I guess I can go today." Half way though me saying that she was coming towards me to hug me and I stand there and pat her back. "Ahhhhh I'm so excited now, I really don't want to be the only girl today because the boys are so competitive." She says and throws her head back and her hands down. "We will be leaving soon in about 30 minutes to an hour." She says and she gets on the phone with Aaron and walks outside to talk. I can hear her speaking in a high pitches voice. A happy voice. I smile and look down grabbing my moisturizer and applying it to my face and putting on a little bit of mascara. I wasn't going to do anything to my hair but I guess I should do something if there's a guy going.

I grab my curler and plug it in and as soon as it heats up I curl my hair in very loose curls and run my fingers through my hair and put a little hair spray in it. I put in my necklace my mother got me and my little sister. It's has a tiny silver rose on it. It's so pretty and delicate I'm scared to ever break it. I put on my rings as Sophie walks in. She's wearing dark blue jean shorts and a pink blouse with a long necklace and she's wearing black booties. We sit and talk about this guy that her boyfriend is bringing. From what she has told me so far and what I get from him is that he's quiet and closed off but he's also kinda cute.

By the time we are done talking Sophie gets a texts she stands up and says that the boys are down stairs so we both grab our jackets, I throw on my brown booties and grab my purse and we head down to the car.

When we reach the car Sophie opens the passenger door and gets in and I open up the back door, climb in and buckle up. I put my hands in my lap and look around and smile. The guy I assume is Aaron who is Driving turns around and smiles at me and the boy sitting next to me, I haven't looked at the boy yet. "Hey Kelsey, nice to finally meet Sophie's roommate." He smiles at me and turns back towards the wheel. I glance towards the boy sitting next to me and he speaks " Hi, I'm Cory." He has light blue eyes and short kinda wavy blackish hair. He's really cute and has cute dimples and I just kinda stare at him until I remember he said Hi and I probably look like a creep. "I'm Kelsey." He's smirking at me and kinda chuckles under his breath and keeps looking me up and down slowly. I look forward towards Sophie and she has her eyebrows raised smirking at me and she turns around and Aaron starts driving.
