chapter two: make up and fancy clothes

i got into the van, got buckled in and we started heading to pick up molly. she goes to the middle school i went to, it's just a couple blocks from our house. we arrived at the school at 3:33, just a couple minutes to wait. i decided to take out my phone to check it.

joey💛 sent you a text

joey💛: hey sweets, you ready for tonight?
me: more than i'll ever be, i guess.
joey💛: y/n, what do you mean?
me: nothing, don't worry about that. are you ready?
joey💛: flip yes.
me: well that sounds pleasing, yeah?
joey💛: yeah.
me: okay i'll see you later, bye love.
joey💛: okay, see you, goodbye honey.

i turned my phone off and put it in my pocket. soon it was 3:50, molly should be coming out in a little bit.

molly stumbled down the stairs and hopped in the car. we were quickly driven home to get ready.

when we pulled into my driveway, i jumped out of the car and walked towards the front door. when i got inside, i went straight to my room to get my homework started. i got my laptop out, turned on my new york city playlist on spotify and began the process. it took me about 30 minutes to finish it all.

i put my laptop on the bathroom counter, restarted the playlist, and turned on the water. i slipped my clothes off and stepped into the shower. i felt the hot water drizzling down upon my skin, making me escape the world for a while. i drowned in my thoughts, i was lost in the music, i finally started to actually wash my body and rinsed off. i turned the water off and got out, the cold air flushed my face.

i dried off and went to decide what to wear. i decided to wear some of the new things i bought at a small boutique downtown. i put on my warm grey turtleneck, my brown and black plaid shirt, with my black leather jacket, and paired it with my low top vans.

i usually wouldn't wear makeup but i feel like i need to look my absolute best. so i decided to put on a light brown eyeshadow on my eyelids, i just used my fingers, and put a little gold shimmer on them. i think it looked very good, considering, i put on mascara, did my eyebrows and put on a nude matte lipstick.

i had finished my make up and made sure to grab all the things i wanted to bring with me. my deodorant, lip gloss, pads (just in case), gum, my phone charger, my head phones, my wallet, and chapstick, lots of chapstick.

"y/n, hurry up, aren't you ready yet?" i heard parker yelling from outside my door.

i ran down the stairs leading out of my room, and went into the living room to find my family, parker, and marley, they were waiting for me to finish getting ready.

my sisters looked really cute, molly was wearing a black, lace dress, with some booties, a black bomber jacket, and tights. beth was wearing a white sweater, with a pair of light wash ripped jeans, with vans, and a grey wool plaid jacket. my mom dressed nathan, so he was wearing a plaid shirt with jeans, and his white converse. parker was wearing a long sleeve ralph lauren polo, with jeans and his converse, while marley was wearing a velvet black skirt with the dark grey sweater we picked out when we went shopping a couple of weekends ago. my mom was just wearing a black sweater, dark wash jeans, and her favorite black combat boots.

we finally decided we were going to leave. we needed to pick joey up from the airport, we figured she could wait to bring her stuff back to my house, until after we eat.
