The last thing she remembers was the cold. The cold that froze everything of hers to the point that she was unable to move. Her body began to stop generating any heat. She couldn't feel anything but that coldness to her bare bones. Her vision was getting blurry until there was only darkness.

Did she die? Did she die to follow the rest of the family? It seemed like it. It was warm. Was it heaven? She didn't know but it was feeling nice. She couldn't wait to see her grandfather and said look, I am here now. I am not behind anymore. But then her grandfather would slap her and scold, How dare you enter here?

Was it a dream or it was some stuff her mind made up when she awoke? It didn't matter to her because there was a hole in her chest that she couldn't fill it.

The night had fallen, but she was unable to sleep. Shiki was thinking about everything. The tragedy and that glasses man who saved her. He said he was from some organizations. It was a pure coincidence that he found her at that time at the snowfield. If he didn't found her, she surely would have been buried in the snow. And he seemed like a genuine person. Whether there was a motive or not, that man saved her. It was just a heat of the moment, an impulsive thought. She accused him of being selfish of the most irrational reason, while it was the least selfish of all. And he admitted it so willingly.

Shiki felt so embarrassed and guilty. She shouldn't say those words, no matter in what circumstance. Will he come back tomorrow? Probably not, seeing how rude and ungrateful she was. But if the man decided to come back to visit, she would definitely apologize to him.

A strange sound came from the door. She turned around, while it was dark but she still recognized that it was her doctor. When did he enter the room?

"Doctor? Are you here to check up?"

"Yeah..." His voice sounded rough "I just need to check something with you."

He walked closer and stopped at her bed. It was dark, the only light source was from the window. She couldn't see his face clearly. There was something wrong.

"Doctor?..."

Suddenly, the doctor grabbed her neck with both of his hand and used his whole body pushing her down on the bed. He climbed up on her for a better hold and used every strength in him to engrave his hands on her neck. She tried to break free but couldn't, and her legs were locked by the weight of his body.

"So you couldn't even kill yourself properly. You disappointed me, miss Mikado."

The voice, she heard it before, but she couldn't remember whom.

"I guess I have to finish you."

No, she doesn't want to die. But the more she fought, the tighter the grip to the point that she felt dizzy and nauseous like there was no strength in her body.

The doctor ,who had been trying to take care of her, was trying to really take care of her by choking. How irony.

The doctor's eyes are red. Does he have red eyes? Those eyes look familiar.

In her subconscious mind when she almost lost consciousness, Shiki could see a person she didn't recognize with the same eyes. Those red eyes. Were they the same person? No, they were not. The more she looked at the one who was choking her, the more she saw the other person smirking, enjoying her suffer and couldn't wait for her to die. But the body was definitely the doctor. Could it be this person is inside the doctor? Like the doctor's body was a vessel, and the other person was what filled inside. The information just came to her mind, but so far, it made sense to her.
