My things were packed and I was ready to go. I take a quick look around my bedroom again and drag my suitcase behind me as I climb downstairs. I see my mom holding a pink scarf, ready for me to wear. I thank her as she wraps the cloth around my neck and kisses my forehead,
"Be safe, Julie." My mum bid me goodbye. She decided to ditch work today so she could see me off.
"Bye mum. Take care of yourself." I kissed her cheek.
"Have a safe trip hun." My mum helped me drag my suitcase to the trunk of the car. This is going to be a long drive. I turn on the radio and soft melodies escaped from the speakers. It was relaxing. I started to drive to London, a few hours from here. It's inappropriate if I take a plane just to reach London, so I stuck with the idea of driving. I also remembered my day with the Malik's, telling them all about the film, joking that they should at least wait until the premiere before I tell them the whole story of the movie. These thoughts just kept rambling on my mind while driving. I was happy I'm occupied my my own thoughts. I suddenly felt my stomach grumble. I didn't eat breakfast.
Right outside the City of London, there was a little diner, and I decided to eat first before I pass out from hunger. I ordered the most common, and probably the only thing that the diner can make, burger. I ate my burger quietly while reciting my script quietly by myself. I was back to driving after half an hour spent in the diner, and before I knew it, I'm in London.
I remembered going here on a field trip when I was still in high school, Zayn still one of my best friends. We weren't in a relationship yet, but we both know that we have a crush on each other since the first years of high school. I remembered the things Zayn and I did while we were here in London. We would sneak out of out hotel room, and just look at the lights of London from above the hotel rooftop. It's one of the best cities in the world, no doubt.
I arrived at the address Annie sent me last night, parking in front of a really big hotel. I called a hotel bellman to help me with my luggage. It was freezing when I got out of the car, everything white. Winter is sometimes cruel. I tuck fallen hair behind my ear and adjust my scarf my mother gave me. I asked the bellman to follow me to the room Annie told me she checked in for me. The hotel was really warm inside, and even though Christmas is over, the christmas tree is still standing, decorated, loud and proud.
I admire the paintings at the lobby of the hotel, the hotel was painted gold, with expensive looking furniture for lounging. There was a coffee shops and gift shops at the far end corner of the room, adding more warmth to the hotel. I pressed the floor of the room, with the bellman hot on my heels.
I finally arrived to my hotel room, and once I got inside, my team was ready. My whole team, for my make-up, warddrobe, and for last minute practice of lines. They started doing my make-up, putting all kinds of stuff I didn't even know myself what it does. I just closed my eyes as they did my hair, nails, make-up everything. Apparently, the part we'll be filming today is a ball. The set is located at the Grand Ballroom of the hotel, exactly at the center.
They did my hair in a really elegant updo. They curled my hair first and gathered it into one, big braided bun on top of my head. my make-up was not that heavy, but considering that this scene is a ball, it's still a lot. The scene is about my character being invited to a ball by the queen but she has no one to go with. So she asked for the leading man's help, her best friend, which is Zayn's part.
