This is for the diverse
who face the adverse-
Breaking away from
The shackles of conformity.
Those who have a dream
will one day stand free,
Tall in success before their silent oppressors.
This is for the individuals
who hold hated heads high,
who smile against all odds,
who shine on their own,
that know what doesn't kill can only strengthen.
This is for the youth
that celebrate the insecurities
and grin in the face of sameness
who know that one day they will
speak to ears that aren't deaf
and walk with eyes that openly see.
