Chapter 5: Getting Ready

Azie's POV

"Okay. Let's stick with that." Arius said in a final tone and rose from his seat. I just heaved a sigh.

Is this the end of the world? Virus outbreak? Survival? This ain't cool at all.

The atmosphere became silent for a minute. Everyone is contemplating if this plan we made will work.

I looked at Gifflet who's currently looking outside the half-open window where we can hear growling and screams of agony and terror. I saw Arius at the corner of the room doing something weird on the wall. Kaliya and Dearil sitting beside me in deep thoughts.

"May natira pa kayang buhay tulad natin?" Kaliya whispered.

I saw Dearil pat her shoulder.

"Maybe? Or maybe we're the only ones."

I shudder thinking about what's outside this room. Monsters that'll ravish us anytime we put our guards down.

"No. It's still the first day. I'm sure people were doing everything to fight and hide. So we better do this." Kaliya stated as we fell into deep silence.

"You guys ready?" I decided to break the quiet athmosphere. They all shook their heads while Gifflet shut the window close.

"Not really but I guess we have to." I gave Gifflet a sad smile

"Okay then—"

"Wait! You guys come here and help me push this damn wall." Arius shouted across the room that caught all our attention.

We rush in his direction as Dearil and Gifflet then help him push the wall. Our eyes widen.

"Shit."

"This... this is.." Says Kaliya in disbelief.

"I thought you don't have something like this here?" I turned to Arius who was standing beside Kaliya.

"Baby, I don't even know this room exists." He said while his eyes were in front. I didn't mind what he said and just step inside while looking for any wall switch.

"Well, I knew there has to be something inside this very well built room. Let's go."

"Wait, how did you find this secret room here?" Kaliya ask curiously walking behind us.

"I happen to see some weird parting line." I heard Arius replied.

I instinctively snapped my head on my right side when a bright light hit my face.

"You smoke?" I asked Gifflet as I saw him holding a lighter.

"Nope. Just a story without anything fun." I shrug.

I smile at him and we finally saw the light switch and click it on making all the light bulbs on the wall glow.

"Woah!" We can't help but felt amaze standing in front of this wall and room full of weapons! From types of guns to sharp weapons!

There's also this gray transparent fridge that contains choco bars and layers of foods.

"Never know Mr. Claeg hides kinds of stuff like these here." Dearil said, referring to Arius' dad.

"Well, I'm not surprised at all. Uncle loves guns. I still remember when we were kids, we love playing with toy guns in your backyard Ari—" Arius cut her off.

"Tss!" I averted my gaze from them to Gifflet and saw his face change. My brows shot up.

So, they're best friends since they were kids. Interesting.
