My name is Diane Clancey and So here I was a 28 year old Chartered Accountant who thought she knew her figures so well.
Suzie was an hourglass of pure marble finish but I should have wondered why someone like that had eyes for me.
Im not unattractive but compared to her I was a wallflower, my morals were firmly set on being faithful and that had earned me a reputation as a pushover, it seemed that this turn of events would go a great way to finally waking me up from my slumber.
Trying to compose myself was difficult and seeing a smile was the catalyst for my pain.
“So it finally happened”
“What did?”
“You left the bitch or you caught her cheating ass again”.
“Neither actually, Suzie told me she was seeing someone else and that she was leaving to be with her”.
“Well Im shocked that she had the balls to come out and say it, but god Im so sorry Diane”.
“Its OK, the stupid cow thinks she is going to be happy with Tracie”
“You mean your counsellor, I should have guessed but then you should have guessed too, the woman is hot”.
“Yes she is but a total slut who cant resist a heartbeat, trouser snakes and pussy”.
“So what are you going to do?”
“Its done, Suzie has taken her things and gone…….I need a diversion”
“Then why not come and visit me”.
I had thought about doing that for a long time, me and Siobhan had known each other for a very long time and it seemed inevitable that being so close would lead to the two of us kissing but it didn’t get beyond first base.
We had a simple rule.
Long distance relationships were a no no.
So we chalked it down to experience and left it at that.
“I don’t want to impose, I know your only seeing this new girl through a computer screen but I can imagine the phone calls and”.
“Actually Di, Im not sure what is happening with the two of us”.
“What do you mean?”
“Its the distance issue again and although we have not met yet and plan to in the future, both of us continue to have doubts about this working”.
“Don't tell me the two of you have called it a day”.
“Not that drastic, but we are having a ‘cooling off period’ just to see if taking some time apart can be good and make us miss each other”.
I had never met the girl who had stolen her heart but I had heard enough to know that Rosie was a keeper and despite being many miles away across the ocean and beyond there was a good chance that a final meeting would confirm what Siobhan hoped.
That they were soul mates.
“So your all alone too……well I guess it makes good sense for me to come and visit you then”.
“I took the liberty of looking at shipping times while we have been talking, the weekly shuttle is on Friday……if you can be here by 12.30 then you can get it…….otherwise you might need to swim to get to me”.
“Its OK Siobhan I will be there!”
I rang the office and was granted a week off and I planned to make the most of it.

Siobhan Layton came into my life when I was debating my sexuality and as I mentioned we went from being friends to the ones with benefits, but I couldn’t get to grips with her emotions and we parted that path and remained friends, albeit with distance.

Suzie was a distant memory and by the time myself and Siobhan were up to date with all the goings on I was feeling a lot better.
Admittedly that had something to do with the wine and I got ready to pour another glass, only to discover that the bottle was empty.
It had been fun to catch up and it was going to be even better to see my best friend and let all my troubles be forgotten.
I wasn’t feeling too drunk and closed down the computer, I was just about to head off to bed when there was a knock at the door.
‘Who could that be at this late hour?”
The knocking got quite insistent.
“OK OK , give me a second”.
I crossed the room and flung the door open and gasped.
“Tracie, what the fuck do you want?”
She had been crying.
“Can I come in, I want to apologise”.
“You don’t need to apologise, Suzie has already made her peace and moved out”
“Moved out?”
“Yes, is she not at your place?”
“I've been out all day dealing with clients”.
Hmm I could imagine exactly what she was doing with her clients.
“Then I guess you better trot along home because I am sure that Suzie will be waiting for you”.
And with that she was gone.
I took a moment to watch and giggled.
Did Tracie know what she was getting herself into?
I actually found that I didn’t care either way because in the morning I would be on a train bound for Scotland and a chance to forget about all that had happened.
