"I should get home." I said and stood up.
Nick stood up also and grabbed my hand, "Will you call me?"
I nodded and gave him a quick peck before heading down the street towards my house.
I opened my front door and tip-toed my way to the stairs, hoping not to been seen nor heard.
"I heard Nick's confession..." My sister said. I looked to my right to see her sitting on the couch, staring at the blank TV screen with a cup of tea in her hands.
"How much?"
"All of it." She set her cup down on the table and came over to me. She pulled me into a hug and tightly held on to me, "I'm sorry for the way I acted towards Nick. He's not like Joe. He's not like Joe at all." She said through her tears.
"He's not, Lana. He's really not." I replied.
"I know. And I just want you to know that I'm happy for you. You have something I never had and I guess, I guess I was just jealous. I'm so sorry, Aurora."
"Why would you be jealous? And out of everyone... me?" I let her go and stared at her.
"Because you and Nick had this exciting relationship and I don't know, I wanted that with Joe. And the fact you were my baby sister; it just got to me, you know?"
I nodded. I was once in her position too. Only, I was jealous of Riley.
I smiled and gave her a tight squeeze, "I love you, sis."
She laughed, "I love you too." She looked at me and then grabbed my hand, "C'mon, I've got something to give you."
She ran up the stairs, pulling me up with her. We entered her room and she ran to her closet. "Close your eyes." She said, reaching for the top shelf. I rolled my eyes before I closed them and stood there, waiting patiently.
"Okay, open." I opened my eyes and on the bed was a prom dress. But not just any prom dress, Lana's dream prom dress.
"Oh, Lana... I can't." I put my hand up to my mouth in shock.
She came over and took my head, leading me over to it, "Nonsense. You can and you will."
She sat me down and sat next to me, "Look, you have a chance to go. I didn't. I was in the hospital having Elliot. This is a beautiful and I'd hate for it to go to waste. You wear this dress, win Prom Queen and whatever, and you go with Nick and have a great time. Not only for you, but for me."
I smiled and hugged her, "Thank you."
She nodded and stood up to go take care of Elliot who was calling for her. When she left, I held up the dress and felt its material. I give Lana the credit for picking out such a dress. I felt bad that she never had a chance to wear. The teal color of the dress would've brought out her eyes and dark brown hair.
Lana came back and stood by the door with a distraught expression on her face. "Uhm... Aurora, that was... that was Kevin Jonas on the phone. Aurora, Nick's in the hospital. You need to get down there."
The dress slipped out of my hands and onto the floor. I ran past her and straight down the sitars, and out the door.
"AURORA! AURORA, WAIT!" Lana chased me and caught my arm.
"I NEED TO GO, LANA! I NEED TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED!" I screamed at her. It seemed as if I had no time.
"Take my car. You'll get there much faster." She thrust her keys to me and pointed to her car.
"Thank you!" I yelled and ran to the car. I got in and as soon as I pulled out of the driveway, I was on my way.
