"Father? You're early..." Draco and Lucius were now  standing in Dumbledores office. Draco had been in the great hall for dinner, sitting with Blaise and Pansy, when he had been told by a Ravenclaw he was wanted in Dumbledores office. As soon as he walked in he had seen Lucius, much to his surprise, he had been told he was coming in a week around three days ago. Dumbledore wasn't in the office with them, which Draco was grateful for, he wanted to be alone with his father. Lucius was now leaning against the desk, arms crossed and his emotionless eyes staring into Dracos.

"So," Lucius drawled, making Draco's skin crawl. "Are you you going to tell me about the marks around your face and why you were in the hospital wing?" Draco winced, of course his father would want to know everything, and just immediately ask questions, he wouldn't ask Draco if he was okay, why did he even hope?

"I guess one--"

"You guess? Never start your sentences with you guess, no one will ever take you seriously." Not like anyone did anyway, Draco thought, but didn't say it out loud.

"On of our very old ancestors was a," Dracos hands starting sweating, he was nervous, he was having to tell his father just how much of a freak he was, how was he going to react? Would he disown him? Yell at him? Try to beat the creature out if him? He sure hoped not. He licked his lips, trying to just get the words out of his mouth, but they wouldn't get out of his throat, as if something had stuck them there.

"Was a...?" Lucius urged him.

"W-was a..." Draco looked away, wiping his hands on his robe, his eyes flicking any where but his father. This was ridiculous, how was he going to do anything to stop the war when he couldn't even tell his own father what he was? He was pathetic. "A Spiritus Draconis." He blurted, wanting this talk to already be done, even though his father and him had only been talking for a few minutes. Lucius' eyebrows shot up.

"Doesn't Spiritus Draconis mean dragon spirit in Latin?"

"Yes, which means I can connect with dragons, and visa versa. Also, I was told there was some dragon genes in me..." he drifted off when he saw his father's face twist. He swallowed, ready for him to be told how much of a freak he was. He had only given his father the simple description of what he was, he knew it went much deeper than what he told Lucius.

"Well, this certainly makes things interesting." Lucius said slowly. "I don't know the history behind Spiritus Draconis', maybe I'll look at some books about them." Dracos eyes widened, he couldn't let him get his hands on any books about Spiritus Draconis', or he would learn about Spiritus Tenebris, and that's what Voldemort was. It would be too close to the truth about this war.

"There isn't any." Lucius raised an eyebrow.

"Surely there must be some." Draco shook his head. "Then where did you get all your information about what you are." Draco opened his mouth, but didn't answer. "Is there something your hiding from me Draco, because I can assure you, I will find out what ever your hiding."

"No, I'm not hiding anything." Draco said quickly. Lucius narrowed his eyes but changed the subject.

"So, why were you in the hospital wing?" Draco wrung his hands.

"I got really mad, and then these flames kinda surrounded me, enveloping my body, then I just passed out."

"You passed out for about a week?" Draco nodded. "Why did you get so mad." Draco shrugged, looking away again. "Okay, and I have one more question." Draco looked up at his father, curious as to what he was going to ask next. "Why were you hanging out with Potter earlier?" Dracos eyes widened, he saw that? Crap.

"I--we were just talking." Lucius raised his eyebrows, waking closer to Draco.

"Just talking? You guys were playing tag or some childish game like that. You were chasing after him. Didn't look like talking to me." Draco opened his mouth but Lucius held up his hand. "You can't be friends with Potter, not now with the dark lord back. You must stick with your side of this war."
