The night had been crazy things had gone down the drain pretty quickly, mostly because of the news of the veil disappearing slowly but surely. One of our pack mates had panicked asking what the hell we were supposed to do if we were found out, and in all honesty I think that's a fair question the friends we have are mostly humans which also scares us that if we're found out that we're going to lose them.
To which the rest of the pack had panicked before I had slammed my hand down to silence them, finally everyone had shut up and looked to me. "We're not going to let this scare us if we do then things are gonna go wrong faster than they already are so shut up and listen to Adam he hasn't let us down yet and I doubt he will this time," my words seemed to do the trick as heads turned toward our alpha the man in charge the man who has seen our pack through thick and thin.
"Dylan's right we panic things are gonna go wrong for now we continue as we are the pack can't do much about this and I doubt we can get stop this from happening, if it happens it happens." From the look of a few people around me not everyone was happy with that answer, and I doubt we're gonna get through this without any incidents happening if people in our pack were out there doing stupid shit. For now all I could do was probably go back to my job and do what I did best and fix cars. Things were not going to be easy even more so if things didn't go well for us since we weren't the only supernatural things in town.
I had woken early the next morning to go and open shop to see if I could finally fix that god damn transmission on the truck that had been taken into my shop a few days ago, it had been stubborn the bolts had been tightly screwed on which means it was a hassle to get them back off again. I pulled out my keys from my pocket intent to walk in before my eyes saw the garage door. We know what you are and you can't hide from us, a chill raced down my spine as I looked around to see if anyone was around something was wrong someone was here and it looked like the were harassing me if the door on my garage was anything to go by.
I swallowed pushing down the fear that had raced up and made itself known taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly I put the keys into the door and unlocked it throwing them on the counter as I opened the garage door. "We know what you are?" It was a familiar voice a voice I was excited and dreading to hear at the same time, "Dylan what does it mean by that?" I looked back at the figure that was now staring at me behind the counter Carter Wright my best friend and also the love of my life though she didn't know that.
She was one of the few that helped me get on my feet here, had helped me pay for the building and eventually became a co-worker though she worked mostly on getting the damaged parts off of any extra car I couldn't get to while I was fixing other ones it helped to have an extra set of hands around. She also had short brow hair that went down to her shoulders and stood at 5,4 a few inches shorter to my 5,7 height, sometimes she complained that I was taller than her asked how I became this tall. I said genetics cause I couldn't tell her it was because I was a werewolf that was crossing a line I wasn't yet ready to cross.
"I don't know just came in to open up shop and it was already sprayed there which means I'll have to scrub it off later," I waved my hand toward the door though I was moving to the truck intent on finishing the job and moving onto the Chevy Malibu that was sitting outside the shop, though when I looked over at Carter I could've sworn I saw something dark flash behind her eyes before they were looking at me with concern which was weird.
I knew I had to report this back to Adam since he would want to know what was going on that one of his pack had been threatened even though it was really vague, I was pulled out of my thoughts as a hand grabbed mine and I looked away from the truck into forest green eyes that held concern for me "if something is going on or if someone is threatening you Dylan I want to know I don't want you to get hurt." A small smile came to my lips at those words as they warmed my heart though I knew they were ones of friendship, "if something was wrong Carter I would tell you cross my heart."
For now nothing was wrong at least not at the moment anyway, and I hoped it stayed that way, but something in my gut told me that it wouldn't that things would only get harder from this point on and more dangerous. For once in my life I hoped my gut was wrong that things would fade back to what they were before hand, "for now let's get this truck fixed up and ready to go so then we can get that Malibu finally looked at yeah?"
Carter looked at me for a second searching my face for what I didn't know, and when she either found what she was looking for she sighed and nodded. I think she knew I was dodging the question, but was letting it go for now knowing I would probably bring it up later if it was actually a big deal or that I was actually in danger which I hoped not. It was one thing to deal with a pack, but it was something different when you didn't know what the hell you were handling.
A/N- Soooooo I took my break on this story for awhile, but I hope to get back into it because I still like the idea that was put into it anyway like or comment and let me know what you think and as always
Keep that fire burning
