June,4th (nighttime)
I lay in my hospital bed staring at the white stucco ceiling, taking in my surroundings. My rooms pitch black, just the way I like it, though it would feel much better if this was my bed in my bedroom, but I had to basically give that up a couple months ago when the cancer began controlling my life. I inhale deeply scrunching up my nose at the smell. Don't hospitals smell disgusting! Everything about their smell practically screams of sickness and death. If only hospitals could make you feel.. Like.. More at home. Oh well I'm not going to complain I'm alive today that's all that matters. I hear footsteps walking by my door, the light peering underneath the large wooden door. Hey, that reminds me! That guy today he was strange. What was his name? Tim. Wait that doesn't sound right. Tom, it was Tom. Gosh did he have nerve, standing in the entrance way, supposedly coming in here to give me my pills, but instead just standing there staring at me. Laughing. He was kind of cute though. Ahh, those green eyes that would make any average girl swoon! "Snap out of it Scarlett." I accidentally whisper out a bit too loud. My poor mother who hasn't gotten much sleep in... Well since I was diagnosed wakes up startled. "Wha.. What's wrong Scarlett?" "Is everything alright?" I feel for my mother I wish she wasn't dragged down with me. She was once so beautiful with her shoulder length blonde hair always pinned to the side with a couple bobby pins and her wide brown eyes, which now carry bags underneath them 24/7. Her blonde hair nowadays always a tad messy, no longer bobby pins there to support her bangs. She rarely gets any sleep and it's all my fault! I tell her that "Everything's fine, just thinking." She says "Okay good." "Goodnight pumpkin." I say "mooom" which makes her chuckle as she closes her eyes. Suddenly I feel my own eyes closing. They're too heavy to continue writing, guess that's all for today! Night! ~Scarlett❤️
