You were making your way towards the Traveler along with Shawn and Carry. You three were running for at least hour trying to make it and help defend the Traveler. However, when you arrived, there was nothing more than a desolate field, devoid of all life. Burnt trees and soot covered the ground. You three walked through it taking it all in then you stepped on something. It sounded metallic. You took your boot off it and crouched down. You moved the dirt away from the object and you picked it up. It was an android's head. 'This is a good sign.' You thought. If they got away then there is still hope. You got up and kept walking forward with your Better Devils ready. You couldn't believe this had happened within only a few hours. Still no sign of the Vanguard besides the android head. You were beginning to lose hope of finding them in this wasteland. You just kept moving towards the Traveler. No matter how far you three traveled it did not seem to get any closer.

"Ok guys, double time." You said as began to sprint forward, Shawn and Carry followed suit.

You reached a forest and it had started to become dark while the Traveler still seemed far away. Then something strange began to happen. You heard footsteps, too heavy to be a human. You stopped abruptly, Shawn and Carry stopped as well wondering what was going on.

"Hey (Y/n), Why did you stop?" Carry asked.

You held your index finger and said, "Listen." Then you began to hear the footsteps again. So did Shawn and Carry because they reacted by bringing up their weapons and pointing towards the noise. You slowly brought Better Devils up as well, aiming for what it was. You then saw a laser beaming from something and it was aimed directly at you. Then the trees were knocked out of the ground flying towards you. You dodged out of the way, Shawn and Carry did as well. You looked ahead and saw a giant mech suit. 'I don't want to get hit by that thing. It'll do some serious damage.' You thought.

"Guys!" You said to Shawn and Carry. They turned their heads toward you. "Don't get hit by that thing!"

"You think!" Shawn said and Carry nodded in agreement. They looked back at the adversary. You did as well. You sprinted forward and shot it with Better Devils. It swung at you, but you managed to dodge it and keep firing at it until you ran empty. It didn't take any damage at all. It was immune to kinetic weapons. 'Ok, what about energy?' You thought and pulled out Uriel's Gift. It swung at once more as you emptied the entire magazine into it, but it wasn't even fazed by it. 'Energy weapons don't work either? What is this thing made of?' You thought as you went back to Shawn and Carry

"Well, that didn't work, like at all." Shawn said.

"Yeah, I have no idea what this is made of. I can just say some very strong metal." You said as you dodged another strike from it. You did not like this situation at all. This thing wasn't vulnerable to any of your weapons. You doubted that your sword would work. Sure it could cut metal, but the Vex's metal compared to this thing was astronomically insane. "Ok, screw it sword it is." You said to yourself. You drew QuickFang and jumped forward striking its arm with speed and precision. All it left was a scratch. It used the same arm you hit and swung at you while you were still in the air. You couldn't dodge it. You had to take the hit. 'This is going to hurt' You thought as it hit you in the chest and sent you flying into a tree. A crater was created when you hit the tree. You lost your grip on QuickFang as you began to die from the massive impact and got stabbed into the ground.

"(Y/n)!" Shawn and Carry shouted in unison was all you heard before you died.

Shawn's POV

"You bastard!" I growled as I went into Stormtrance. I began to shock the mech with my blue lighting until I had nothing left. The mech was still left unscathed. It launched forward and punched me into the ground.

"Shawn!" I heard Carry say before she tried to punch it with Frontal Assualt but to no avail. It easily overpowered her. Then it picked her up and walked towards me and picked me up as well. I was barely holding on to my consciousness, but then I couldn't hold it any longer.

[Timeskip - Unknown Amount of Time]

Your POV

You slowly began to wake up. Your vision was blurry. You saw the forest you were in when you fought the mecha, but you no longer saw it, nor did you see Carry or Shawn. You stood up, still wobbly. You looked over to where QuickFang was and pulled it out of the ground. You held out your hand to summon your Ghost, Atlas.

"Atlas, what happened?" You asked him.

"After you were thrown into the tree and died, Shawn and Carrington were captured by that mech. I would assume it was from the army that wanted the Traveler." He answered.

"I need to find them." You said as you put Atlas away and tried to run, but instead, you staggered. "What's going on Atlas?"

"I know you feel it." He said

"Feel what?" You asked

"That your body is severely damaged." He replied.

"I don't have time for that!" You said to him before trying to move again. "Besides that, what is keeping you from healing me?"

"Because the author wants to make the story work." He said to you.

"Wait, what author?" You asked

"Oh I mean, the gravity of the planet is already very strenuous on your recovery time." He said, trying to repair the 4th wall. (4th Wall break inside a 4th wall break! That's like 16 walls!). "And that's why it took so long to revive you."

"Wait, how long have I been asleep?" You asked him

"Approximately, 2 months." Atlas replied

"Wait, WHAT!" You shouted.
