Chapter 3

Chapter 3: Alice

We drive for awhile in silence before Peter starts talking. "So I was thinking you'd like the mall I think," I cut him off when I make a gagging noise. "Do you not like the mall or something, I thought girls liked the mall"

"Ugh, no I hate it, shopping, lines, waiting. I don't see how people think that's fun and anyways, why would I want to shop? I can shop in my town. There are new things here just show me around", I reply. He turns away but not before I see that his cheeks are tinted with pink. "What about a park or something, just a place to walk and talk", I suggest.

"Yeah, that's cool too",he says nonchalantly. I giggle and he looks over at me and laughs too, lightening the mood.

"So do you have any place in mind?", I ask.

"It's not a park, well we have to go to a park but, how about I just show you?", he asks.

"Well I only just met you and you want to bring me to some place no one knows about. Do I have the gist of it?", I reply.

"All you had to do was say no", he mumbles as he starts to turn the car around.

I panic and quickly respond,"No, wait I wanna go. I just wanted to know if I had the gist of it"

"Yeah, you got the gist of it, but don't tell anyone about it, it's like my own personal Neverland", he replies. I nod quickly and soon he's parked. We get out and I'm almost immediately trampled by a little kid.

"'Scuse me miss", she says as she runs past me.

"I'll protect you", Peter says like a super hero. He grabs my hand and jogs past children, dogs, and all sorts of benches and playground equipment. We push our way through a bunch of bushes and trees and soon we are on a wide path. Though we are past the danger he holds on to my hand still. He looks at me giving me a small smile and can't help the blush that rises up into my cheeks.

We continue forward hand in hand until we enter a clearing. It's already starting to get dark but I could see everything clearly. Lightning bugs fly around. There's a pond with lily pads and a small waterfalls all around, water flowing in from them. There are flowers sprinkled around and the setting sun is reflected in the water. "It's beautiful", I whisper in aw.

"Yeah it is", he mumbles back, taking me away from the sight. I look at him to see that he was staring at me and the blush that had almost faded away comes back.

"So this is your Neverland", I say looking around again.

"No, it's ours". He glances over at me. I look over at him shocked.

"What's going on", I ask eyeing him warily.

"I like you, I mean you seem nice, and I feel like I can trust you", he stammers averting any eye contact. He was cute in that moment, being all nervous.

"Well we just met and I barely know so can we go on a date or something, 'cuz I kinda like you too", I reply, playfully nudging him. As soon as I say that he visible lightens up.

"Yeah that be awesome!", he exclaims. "How about tonight. we missed dinner, so lets go back to my house and have a picnic outside or something". I quickly nod my head and we head back to the car and go home.
