Chapter 6

Chapter 6: Peter and Ben

Alice storms off after her talk with Ben. I don't know what he's doing but he's messed with me for the last time. I barge up to him and growl,"Don't mess with Alice. You don't need to bring her into this, she doesn't need anything to do with you"

He laughs before replying,"You're the one that brought her in to 'this'" He makes air quotes around the word this.

"Look I know you hate me for whatever reason all of a sudden, but don't punish Alice for whatever I did", I seethe.

"Actually she wants to spend time with me, just ask her. Look at the time I have a date to get ready for. I'll catch you later", he says walking off with a wink. I curse under my breath before heading to my room. I needed to think.

I walk out a few minuets later and see Alice. I walk over and sit down right as she gets up, hand in hand with Ben. He yells that they're going for a drive and are out of sight. the room is silent and I look around. everyone was staring at me. I look down, I was clenching the armrest so much I ripped some of it. I loosen my grip and storm off. I was getting so mad over I girl I barely knew, but it wasn't that, it was my brother. I walk inside his room looking around. If he was going to hold something over someone's head he always kept proof. her secret probably wasn't so much bad as it was embarrassing. I find a small vault under his desk. The key was probably on him. I curse and grab a bobby pin from my sisters room and try picking the lock. I'm soon successful and fling the door open.

I rummage through paper after paper to no prevail. this was useless. I continue searching after putting the papers in the way they were. I finally look in the closet and find a hole in the wall. I poke my finger in it and pull. the whole wall was a door and I enter into another small closet. I turn a light on and continue my search. There is a computer and I go to it looking through his files. I open the one that says secrets. A list of names shows up and I instantly find Alice. I open it but before it loads it asks for a password. I type Benjamin giving it a shot and immediately it opens. He should get a better password. I laugh at my thought. The file opens and I see a copy of a book or something. I read it.

I shake my head. It only makes it worse that she hid it. It can now be used against her though. I look at it one more time before I delete it. I delete all of it, everyone's file. I turn to leave the room but Ben is there glaring. Finally he speaks in a menacing whisper,"What have you done" I smirk shoving him out of my way before I go find Alice.
