"It's finally summer!" said Kay, throwing her arms in the air. I smile at the sun that pours over me. This will be one to remember.
"We're going to go shopping, visit New York, have parties!"
"You and Davion might, but I've got more important opportunities to take"
She rolls her eyes,"Don't tell me your going to do that therapy prodigy training thing."
"Kay this is my only chance for a head start in my career, and I'm finally old enough to join! And by the way, it's the Summer Therapy Training for Young Prodigies"
She stares in space, tapping her foot. She had any patience, but she is fun, and one of the best friends I've ever had."You lost me at Young. Anyway, don't leave us Skylar-less! You can go, but you have to visit us at least twice a week!"
I laugh"Okay" and wrap her in a hug. Just in time, we can hear the distant roaring engine with an accompaniment of screeching tires. But we didn't seem astonished or flabbergasted, in we just fact burst into giggles.
"Your boyfriend needs to learn how to drive"
"I know, but what can you do? Even the drivers ed teachers wouldn't agree on giving him a test"
I shake my head as the roaring increases. By the time I knew, there was Davion, with a grin on his face.
"One of these days, you'll kill someone " I say.D
"It'll be a miracle if it isn't you"
I stick out my tongue as Kay entered the car.
"Well, I'll see you soon. If you don't come and visit, I'll track you down"
I let out a sigh and nod. She gives me a thumbs up, and the roaring of the engine picks up again.

"I'm home!" I yell as I drop the keys on the counter.
"Hi Sky" my mom says as she envelopes me in a big hug."How was the last day of school"
"Awesome. Oh my god, you made cookies!" I exclaim picking up a warm chocolate chip cookie. I'm a little girl sometimes. Sike, all the times. I was going to take a heart-warming bite, but mom plucked the cookie right out of my possession and put it back on the plate.
"It's for the new neighbors" she wrapped the plate full of delicious cookies in plastic. I could see the steam rising up on it. I licked my lips.
"And your going to bring it to them" she laid the plate in my hands. I stared at her and she gave me a look. I rolled my eyes playfully.
"Fine..." I went back outside. I looked to my right and found the abandoned house. There were brown boxes laid in front the creaky old steps. A moving truck was parked on the curb. I sigh and walk myself over.
As I approach I can see people behind the truck. I notice a woman with red lipstick, a yellow dress that exposed her arms, and green eyes. Her gaze meets mine and they spark. She smiles. I smile back and walk over.
"Hello darling, is there something you need?" I could pick up her British accent.
"Yes..... my mom told me to bring these to the new neighbors. " I said extending my arms to give the plate to her.
"Awww that's so sweet.... I'm Mrs. Farren" she said when she accepted the plate.
"I'm Skylar Carmes."
"Oh you look just like your mother. She came this morn-"
"Mom, where are my boxes!" I hear a deep voice call. I turn. There stood a tall boy with green eyes. He was lean and muscular. He jaw was carved in perfection and his full, pink lips were in a tight line. His hands were in the pockets of his black hoodie. I didn't notice my slight gawking til he came closer and was staring at me.
"Ryan this is our neighbor, Skylar."
He continued to look at me until he nodded and turned to his mom, "Where are my boxes"
His mom sighed,"On the couch". He gave me one last look before turning around and heading back inside. I watched him leave with mesmerzion.
"I'm sorry... he's got problems."
"It's alright, I guess I should be getting home." I said.
"Alright. Thanks so much for stopping by, and tell your mom I said thank you!"
"I will" I turned and started to head home. I couldn't forget the green eyes, the lean shoulders, and... wow. I shake my head. No Skylar, you can't fall over the boy next door like those movies.
Or can I?
