Her heart was in her throat as she darted to her closet with limited time to change into the dress that  she bought from the sweet old woman in the village. Tears stung her eyes and threatened to pour out, but she knew that she didn't have time for tears. Her breath was that of a horse gasping for air after a hard long gallop across the country side. The sound of the roaring crowd could be heard miles away, this brought great fear into Anna's heart. She knew by their voices that time was running out, and fast.

Anna clattered down the stairs in the back of the palace that headed toward the kings stables. She threw her saddle over her horse, then one on another. She heard the crowd hush, and the loud thundering of the kings voice echo over the village. Her cape sliced through the air as she tied it firmly around her neck. The sound of the arrows clashing in her quiver matched the beating of her own heart.

The leather on her saddle sounded like a mouse be tortured by a hungry cat as she sat firmly on it. She could hear the king coming to the end of his speech, and the crowd roar in agreement. She gave her horse one large kick in the sides and started toward the village opening with no turning back.
