Chapter 9

I wake up the next day and sit up. I look around and see I wasn't in my room.
"What the." I quietly say out loud.
I look to my right and see Daniel next to me...in the bed.
"What the hell!" I yell.
He suddenly wakes up and I scurry out of his bed.
"What! Wha?? Why are you watching me sleep?!" Daniel says creeped out.
"I wasn't!"
"Then why are you in here?"
"I um...I don't know... I- I'm leaving." I say as I'm calming down.
"Um...oh... okay." He replies.
I walk down stairs to see a bottle of alcohol on the kitchen counter. 'who the hell would have alcohol in this house? We are all under age.' I think to myself. I go over to the almost empty bottle. I look over and see Corbyn.
"Um, yeah... you and the others got drunk." He says.
I walk over to him and sit next to him.
"Yeah, So you, Jack, Jonah, Zach, and Daniel all got drunk last night after swimming. It was a small dare that Zach decided to ask and by the way, you got his money! You went out and somehow got that drink and you guys all got drunk off of it." Corbyn explains.
"Woah, woah, woah, I didn't do anything to any of the guys did I?"
"No, no! Even drunk jack wouldn't allow that."
"Really? How did I wake up in Daniels bed then?"
"Oh, Zach made a dare to Daniel that after you fell asleep daniel would have to go get you and put you in his bed. You guys didn't do anything, but sleep in the same bed."
"Oh my gosh! I'm going to kill him!"
"No! Don't! He was drunk. Can't blame him."
I roll my eyes. "Fine."
I then get up and go throw the bottle away and get something to eat. Daniel comes down the stairs as Im finishing and asks me why I was watching him sleep again.
" I wasn't. I got spooked after I saw that I woke up in your bed. Then woke you up."
"Wait... Why were you in my bed?"
I explain to Daniel what I had heard from Corbyn.
"I'm so sorry." He says facepalming.
"It's okay! I dont blame you. I blame drunk Zach."
"Haha! Me too!"
We laugh.
Soon everyone else was awake and getting ready for the day. They all do rehearsal and hangout for awhile.
I decide to go out and meet an old friend that moved her about a year ago. She just got back from a vacation in the Philippines. I drive to her house and go to her front door. I ring the doorbell. The door opens and her face lights up.
"JORDAN!" She yells.
"Layla!"I yell back.
We hug and laugh.
"It's been so long!"
"I know right!"
"I didn't know you were here."
"Well, I just moved in with my brother and his friends...so..."
"Oh my gosh! The why don't we boys! I always brag that I know jack."
"Which you do."
"Can I meet them sometime?"
"Yeah! Totally."
"Oh my gosh really?"
"Yes! How about right now? Then just finished practice."
She squeals.
"Oh wow!" I say and chuckle.
We get in the car and drive back to my house. We walk into them screaming. I walk over to them with Layla and yell at them.
"WHAT ARE YOU SCREAMING FOR?!" I yell.
"Huh? Um, video games." Jonah says pointing to the TV.
"Ohh, okay." I say and chuckle.
"who's your friend?" Zach asks.
"This is Layla. She wants to meet you guys." I say shoving her forward a bit.
"Hey, nice to meet you." Layla says as the pause the game and get up.
"Hello. How do you know Jordan?"Zach asks.
"Best friends."
"Oh, wow cool! You here for a week?"
"No, actually I live here in LA." She says nodding.
"That's neat."
Layla then goes and meets the other guys and we all hang out for a bit. Layla then pulls me away for a second.
"Oh my gosh!" She says.
"What?!"
"Zach is freaking hitting on me I think."
"Wow! Lucky you. Meet him and he's hitting on you already."
"Yeah! We are only like 29 days apart."
"How do you even know that?"
"Oh....I um.... looked it up. Heh."
"Oh my gosh, you goof."
We laugh and go back to hanging out. Things go a little steamy in there because Zach was hitting on her so much it was funny.
"Oh my gosh guys, get a room." Corbyn says.
We all laugh while they sit there flustered.
I go out to the kitchen to grab a bottled water because I was thirsty when Daniel comes up behind me and taps my shoulder.
"What the?!" I say and turn around. "Oh my gosh! You scared me!"
"Oh, sorry."
"It's fine."
"Can I talk to you?"
"Um, sure." I say and he pulls me to the side so we're not in everyone's view.
"So, Whatcha need?" I ask.
"Well, I've been confused for a little bit."
"About what?"
"About when we were watching the sunset... you said not yet. Why?"
"I just thought that the guy I first kissed here would be at the right time..."
"What kind of right time?"
"I don't know... when I need him most or just feels right?"
"Oh... is that guy me?"
"I-I don't know." I say and sigh.
"So, you don't like me?"
"I mean yes, I do. I'm-"
"I like you too."
We smile at each other. I feel a buzz in my pocket. My mom was calling. I answer my phone.
Convo with mom.
Mom- Jordan.
Jordan-Hey mom!
Mom-Hey, um... we just found out Isla is very sick, and she's not doing well.
Jordan-is she going to be okay?
Mom-we don't know.
Jordan-Oh.... *i take a deep breath in the out.*
Mom-We are going to do what we can right now, but we just wanted you to know. Don't worry too much though okay?
Jordan-do you want us home?
Mom- no, I'll tell you if you need to come home. I love you.
Jordan-I love you too, bye.
Mom-bye.
End of convo-
"Are you okay?" Daniel asks.
"I don't know." I say and hug him.
