'I go wherever you go without the gratification

complaining..'
the car from the road..She wasn't sleeping well. He could tell that much. She had a most irritable countenance when she woke up and he was sure it had nothing to do with him... or maybe it was directly related to him being there when she woke. Trey didn't care. Either way he had sent for the physician to have her looked at and make sure she was maintaining her health if he could not at least persuade her to eat properly. It was not so very fancy but it was all he was willing to offer by way of her mental health inside his home. He could not risk her running off again.
The morning the doctor showed up she was in the library reading up on horses as she'd been doing a lot of lately. Trey assumed it was because she was running out of stimulating reading material but he had Theodore put an extra stable hand on guard for the stables and barn every night. Just in case she tried her luck at making off on a cow's back or being pulled in a buggy by a flock of chickens. It sounded ludicrous but he'd not doubt that one gust of air inhaled by Ali might come out as a animal language and he would have a revolt on his hands.
When Dibble came to report of his findings with his patient he seemed much more timid than his last visit. They sat in the purple parlor as it was Trey's favorite place in that portion of the house for sentimental personal reasons. The man wore a staunch coat that did not reek of cigars or any other offending smells or colognes but Trey did not miss his unusual nature. He seemed very on edge.
"Allow me, Doctor, to express my apologies for my frankness the last time we spoke."
He looked utterly shocked. Trey couldn't help himself. It seemed that every since he'd apologized to Ali several humble actions seemed to pour out of him. He was hospitable now. Even friendly in the hallway. Lord knew he was sleeping much better with her on the pillow next to his... once he actually fell asleep of course, but still his rest was much more soothing. Aromatherapy Theodore had called it. Worked wonders...
"My anger was misplaced. My man of business, Theodore, will tell you that I do that a lot."
The doctor stuttered his reply. "Absolutely. Oh yes think nothing of it." He sat up a little straighter. His bag was clutched to his chest but at the easing words he shuffled to the place beside his feet. He looked around himself and then at Theodore at the door.
"I trust your event went well?"
Dibble nodded. "As well as can be expected. I will say her complexion is paling more. She could really use some sunlight. A little activity. I can't stress that enough."
"Yes, I agree I've got an outing planned for us just this afternoon."
The doctor seemed physically pleased that his advice was being taken. He looked a little merry. There was color in his cheeks in fact. Trey found, while he sat very casually in front of him, that he liked bringing people joy. And it didn't cost him a thing. Not even his pride. How long, he wondered, had people been bringing delight into the lives of other people? It was quite refreshing. He would have to tell Ali about it later. On their outing perhaps. "Oh really? Something warm I hope?"
"For sure."
"Well that's just grand I'm sure whatever it is she will enjoy it."
"I can only hope."
Dr. Dibble looked at Theodore again. Trey's interest was peaked. "Is there anything you need?"
He had to good graces to blush. "I do beg your pardon. A drink would not go amiss."
It was then that Trey noticed the fine sheen of sweat on the man's head. He gestured to his valet and Theodore was pouring two fingers of a drink into a tumbler and rushing it over on a silver tray. His color was high again and now Trey could see how concentrated it was to his cheeks and neck. He eyed him more carefully. He was bothered.
