As David grows more and more homesick about the camp, Max goes through some life problems that lead to event that will change both of their lives forever.
I just sat there in the back of the car thinking to myself as we were going back to the camp 'David did something that my parents never did... He gave me love' I went back to reality when a government vehicle drove past us. "Uh oh." Gwen said as she parked the car. We all got out and didn't see Ereds parents OR Mr. Campbell.
Neil walked over to me and I asked "Where's Campbell?" He sighed and said "He got arrested cause he accidentally stated loosing a kid" I looked confused "What!? No!" Shouted David in a scared tone. "Are they gonna shut down the camp!?" Ered just nodded her head and said "Yea they're shutting down the camp" David just looked worried "No no no no NO! I can't imagine a life without Camp Campbell!" Gwen put her hand on his shoulder "Even worse. We'll both have to get REAL jobs" David's face turned pale and he just fainted.
I just watched as all the parents bring their kids to their cars. I started to get teary eyed for some reason. 'Maybe I got use to these retards' Nikki's mom grabbed Nikki's arm and said "Come on angel, we're leaving." She pulls away and says "hold on mom. One sec" She runs over to use and pulls me and Neil into a group hug. We hug back. "I'm gonna miss you guys" Both me and Neil answered with "us too"
he pulled away and ran back to her mom. They walked away. It was just me, Neil, Gwen, Neil's dad and passed out David. Neil's dad said "Come on Neil." Neil looked at him then back at me. I couldn't help but hug him. I couldn't help it, he's my best friend. He hugged back and said "I guess I'll see you soon" We pull out of the hug and I said "yea. I guess" "Here" He slipped something in my jacket pocked then went with his dad. I pulled it out and smiled. It was a picture of me, Nikki and Neil. I put it back in my pocket and looked around. Everyone was gone. I sighed and walked over to passed out David. Gwen was fanning him and I just sit next to them.
David jumps up with a gasp and looks around "Where are the kids?" Gwen gave him a look and said "They left" He looked really disappointed. Then, he looked at me "W-we should take you home." I nodded. He stood up, held out his hand and helped me up. We walked to the car, I got in the back seat, buckled and just staired out the window.
*Time Skip*
We get to my house. There were lights on and I sighed. I didn't want to go home. I hugged Mr. Honeynuts close to my chest as I got out of the car. Me and David walk close to the house and I hid behind him. I looked up and saw he looked concerned but he knocked on the door and waited patiently. The door opened and it was my mom. (I drew a picture cause I'm too lazy to describe her)

She pulled the cigarette out of her mouth and asked "can I help you?" I got the courage to reveal myself from behind David. She saw me and asked "What is HE doing here?" David sighed then said "The camp has been shut down due to recent events" She scoffed, pulled me into the house and asked "What the HELL did you do this time!?" Before David could say anything she slammed the door and smacked me right across the face. "That was the last summer camp in this area you worthless piece of shit!" She slapped me again so hard I fell to the ground crying. "Go to your room RIGHT NOW!" I nodded, picked up Mr Honeynuts and ran to my room. I slammed the door and fell to the ground crying. My life sucks. I hugged Mr Honeynuts close to my chest. I pulled out the picture, seeing my friend's smiling faces made me smile. I hugged it tight to my chest and took a deep breath. I stood up and placed the picture on the bedside table next to my bed. I plopped on my bed and staired at the ceiling. Sighed 'tomorrow's another day' I closed my eyes and drifted to sleep.
David POV
I heard Max crying on the other side of the door. I sighed turned around and walked to the car. I get it and leaned back in my chair. "How'd it go?" Gwen asked me looking concerned. "It's just. Max's parents don't care about him. And we just left him with the most horrible looking mother EVER" I said as I sat up. Gwen smiled, placed her hand on my shoulder. "He'll be fine. Max is a tough kid." I smile "yea you're right. You're always right" We looked each other in the eye. I quickly kissed her, sat back down looking out the windshield. My face was burning up 'why the hell did I just do that!?' I looked over and was surprised to see her smiling at me. I smile too then it fades when I realized something "Dang it! I have no where to sleep tonight!" She laughed then pulled out an apartment key. "You can stay with me till you get back on your feet." I smile and say "thanks Gwen" I start the car and we drive away.
