Always Have, Always Will

Peter Parker knew since the beginning that he wasn’t as valuable as Harry Osborn. They were best friends since they were eight, yet Peter never felt like he could match the greatness of Harry. He hated that fact sometimes, but when he was with Harry, everything seemed alright. His heart would light up, he would grin every time Harry said a word. He loved Harry, but he knew in his mind… that Harry would never love him. At least the way that Peter wants him to.

Pete was walking home from The Daily Bugle when he suddenly had an urge to see his beloved best friend. Since Harry was now the head of Oscorp, he might be in some kind of meeting. But Peter decided to give it a shot, he hasn’t seen those hypnotic blue eyes in weeks.

When he got to the Osborn household, his heart skipped a beat as he told the receptionist his name. She gave him a welcoming smile and nodded him off to the lobby of the gorgeous mansion. Peter looked around, remembering playing here as a child. He could just picture a small, frail, young Harry Osborn beckoning Peter up the stairs to come and see his new, expensive toy.

He snapped out of the flashback and slowly headed up the stairs. Harry must’ve gotten the message that Peter was here, because he was suddenly at the top of the stairs, half-smiling down at Pete.

“Well well well, Peter Parker… How’s it been, buddy?” Harry grinned. “Haven’t seen your bright shining face in weeks,”

Pete blushed ever so slightly at the words “bright shining face.”

“Fantastic, I’ve just been working on my web design…” Peter scratched the back of his neck. “How’s my best pal?” He looked up to Harry with those big brown puppy eyes of his. Harry made his way down the steps to embrace Peter in a rather frail bear hug.

“You know, just managing the billion dollar company. The usual,” He pulled back and threw Peter a charming smirk, which gave Pete sweaty palms.

“So, uh… I was thinking, maybe we could do something today? Take a little walk around the city, maybe…?” Peter said casually, looking down.

“Yeah, I’m always up for a break from this business,” Harry nodded to the hall behind him, which lead to his meeting room. “Let me get my coat,”

Peter watched Harry move gracefully down the hallway.

I should tell him today. I need to tell him that I love him. Before he falls for somebody else. I need to. I need him… I need him… I need Harry…

“You ready?” Harry bounced back down the stairs and head for the exit, Peter joyfully following right along. They made their way to a riverside park, and took a seat under a shady tree in the grass. The breeze was cool and refreshing, a crisp spring afternoon.

“So, I heard about your little girlfriend, Gwen… she’s moving, yes? I heard her talking about it in the lab,”

“Uh, yeah… she’s um, not my girlfriend. Anymore, at least. She called it off,” Peter’s heart raced. “Plus I think I’m in love with somebody else,”

“Oh ho ho, who’s the lucky lady?” Harry nudged Peter gently.

“He’s- er, they’re… amazing. Gorgeous blue eyes, sophisticated… the epitome of perfection,” Peter sighed.

“Woah woah, did I hear a ‘he’?” Harry looked deep into Peter’s eyes. “I didn’t know you had a thing for guys,” A teeny smile crept onto Harry’s face.

Peter looked down and picked his fingernails in a nervous fit. If he was going to tell Harry, it was going to be soon.

“Yeah, Harry. There’s this one guy who I have had my eye on forever and I just don’t know how to bring it up, you know? I don’t know if he feels the same way,” Pete was on the brink of tears. He didn’t know why, just nervous, heart-wrenching tears.

“You’ll know when the time’s right, Petey. You’ll feel it,” Harry stared into the river.

This is it. He’s telling me I’m going to feel it, well I feel it all right,

“Harry…” Peter stared Harry straight in the eyes. “It… it’s you, Harry. I’m in love with you.” Harry slowly brought his hand to Peter’s and grinned. Before Peter knew it, Harry was softly kissing him with passion that he never knew Harry was capable of. Peter gave Harry’s hand a soft squeeze and Harry gently broke the kiss and pressed their foreheads together. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting to hear that, Pete? A very… very long time. Being away from you hurts,” Harry stroked the back of Peter’s hand with his thumb.

Peter’s face was now tomato red with surprise and excitement. He felt high on love; high on Harry Osborn. Like nothing in the world could stop him. He could just grab Harry in his muscular arms and swing around town with him all day. Instead, he just hugged Harry with all his might, and kissed his neck up and down.

“I love you so much, I couldn’t hide it anymore. I just need you with me like this every damn day, Harry Osborn…”

“I’m so glad you didn’t keep it to yourself any longer… c’mon, let’s go back to my place,”

Harry helped Peter up and held his hand, leading him back to the Osborn mansion. Once they got there, Harry led Peter to his bedroom, both of them as giddy as teenage schoolgirls. Harry was now blushing along with Peter, and he plopped himself onto his huge waterbed, taking Peter with him. Peter’s camera was strapped to his side, and he decided to take it out and capture this moment so he would have it forever.

“Say cheese, princess,” he said as he snapped a picture of the wide-eyed innocent-looking billionaire.

“Princess?” Harry chuckled and pulled Peter down on top of him. The two seemed to fit together like a puzzle, like they both found their missing piece. Hours of just cuddling passed, and eventually Peter fell asleep, warming up Harry. Harry stroked the back of Pete’s head for a little while and whispered into his ear, “I love you, Peter Parker. Always have… always will.”
